Cover Story: Sean Falyon Featured In The Los Angeles Times
Sean Falyon literally is one of the hardest working cats I know in this music industry. Before I even knew who he was I’d literally see him all over Atlanta at every event, concert, show, or function. Keep in mind Sean Falyon is originally from Philly & my hometown is known for that blue collar work ethic but Sean Falyon manages to be virtually everywhere putting in 300%. If Sean Falyon wasn’t an artist it’s clear that he could easily become the perfect manager for someone because of his work ethic & methods are straight textbook. Sean’s grind is so real even the Los Angeles Times picked up on it & did a story on him entitled ‘Sean Falyon’s Guild To Being Everywhere’. Check out the complete interview below….

The Academy – ‘Samurydas’ feat. Raekwon, Kurupt, & Kojoe
New joint from the production team The Academy & they brought along some three lyrical Samurai Rydas to bless the track from the East Coast, West Coast & back to the Far East Coast with the homie Kojoe out in Japan. Before I forget…..Happy belated birthday to Kojoe too! Kojoe is just coming off his Kojoe Tuesdays series but is about to release an official mixtape in Japan & back here in the states. What better way that to get it poppin’ than to rock on a track with two other skilled emcees in Raekwon & Kurupt. Kojoe also has a track with Styles P that we’re hoping he eventually leaks later.

EL Prez – ‘Steady Mobbin’
The Wessyde Inglewood homie El Prez delivers the first release off his upcoming EP entitled “LEADER SH!T”………This joint produced by Javis Faux has a similar vibe to that early 90s southern cali sound that brings back some good memories of my first time visiting L.A. Ironically I first met the young homie in Atlanta just kickin’ it around town & soaking up the scene. El Prez is the young ‘Left Coast Prezident’ but he’s out to show the world he’s comfortable anywhere on the planet but it’s time to show them how his ‘City of Champions’ aka Inglewood gets it in. We ‘steady mobbin’ to this one….No Oshea

R&B / Soul: Ishe + Hezekiah Project – ‘Pressure’
This is nice right here from Ishe + Hezekiah’s collaborative Project…..Hezekiah is the same soulful Philly emcee & producer many of you may already be familiar with who’s linked up with the San Diego songbird Ishe for this dope experimental soul album that’s out now. This is just one of the standout singles. Soulful vibes right here…..don’t succumb to the ‘Pressure’ to avoid this gem right here. Check this joint out….

Studio Sessions: Rick Ross Records With DJ Toomp (Video)
It should go without question that Atlanta’s DJ Toomp is a dope producer. Although DJ Toomp reps for the south, he’s crafted so many bangers for so many artists in the game that his sound can’t be defined by any one region. He doesn’t particularly have any one key sound either. One of the reasons Rick Ross has been successful is because he has a solid ear for beats & I’m positive he’s knowledge about key producers in the game like DJ Toomp. Check out the video to peep their process…….
Young Chris featuring Freeway – ‘Street Secrets’ (Video)
Young Chris drops a brand new video for the song ‘Street Secrets’ featuring Freeway that appeared on his The Re-Introduction mixtape….I kinda dig how artists drop videos from past works because it truly does make fans go back & check for those projects if they hadn’t peeped them already.

Coldplay – ‘Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall’ (Video)
I can recall a conversation I had with someone about a week ago who said they were a “big Coldplay fan”, but when I mentioned Cemeteries Of London was my favorite song from their last album Viva La Vida the person I was speaking with drew a blank stare. Fake. They’d probably confuse Chris Martin with Dj Premier. I’m a Coldplay fan unlike many of these people who say they like Coldplay only because Jay-Z name dropped & eventually worked with them. It’s almost the same how Jay-Z became a fan after Kanye initially mentioned that he wanted to work with them. Doesn’t seem like those type of people are truly fans more so than they are fans of the power of a particular band’s popularity. Or, at least to them, its the “popular” thing to say. What initially drew me into Coldplay’s music was not only the great music itself, but they’ve always had creatively interesting videos that leave an impression with you hours, days, & months after you viewed them for the first time. Hard to believe that Coldplay have been carefully crafting good music for over a decade now. Today they dropped a brand new video from what will be their fifth album dropping this fall. From the looks of this video they didn’t change up their formula.

Lupe Fiasco featuring Trey Songz – ‘Out Of My Head’ (Video)
This joint right here is an official club banger right now…..I’ve noticed people start bouncing to this joint at a few parties & events recently. Trey Songz on the hook is also a definitive good look as well. It seems kinda odd in a way that a socially conscious artist like Lupe who often gets pigeonholed by public perception now has an official club joint. Crazy right?
