Kid Cudi – Maniac (Short Film)

Directed by Transformers star Shia Lebeouf, “Maniac” is a short film starring the actor Scott Mescudi of the HBO series “How To Make It In America.” Of course he’s better known to the world as the Kid Cudi the recording artist. The short film’s music is centered around the work of Kid Cudi & his producer Dot Da Genius. The movie is about a film crew that documents two serial killers as they go about their business. We warn you that this is not for people who have weak stomachs.

Skyzoo – “Written In The Drums” (Video)

This is easily one of my favorite songs from Skyzoo’s “The Great Debater” project. “Written In The Drums” produced by Swiff D was one of the key tracks that I spun on the radio show regularly when the Great Debater project dropped. This new video directed by @Pacool breathes new life into the project for those that need to still go cop that joint.

Ishe + Hezekiah Speak ‘From the Soul’ On The New Content (Video)

Ishe & Hezekiah’s musical offering, The Ishe + Hezekiah Project, was a soulfully solid album that dropped last June. A key song I still keep on repeat every now & then is their joint “Pressure” that I believe was their lead single before the album was released. In this interview for The New Content they speak on how they met considering he’s also an emcee from Philly & she’s a vocalist repping for San Diego. Ishe & Hezekiah also build upon the recording process behind their debut album as a group. R&B: Michael Francis – “Woman”

Been seeing a few people talking about this new artist from California by the name of Michael Francis. Apparently he’s a singer who also happens to be a rap artist as well. Supposedly he’s only released about 4 songs that I’m currently aware of, but this is the first song I actually heard from him & I was rather impressed with this R&B joint. The lyrics to this song, if I’m hearing them correctly, seem rather interesting as well…from a guy’s perspective. I’ll definitely check to see if he has more quality joints like this one on his upcoming project “Cold Heart Chronicles” when it drops tomorrow October 31st.

This literally happened right down the street from our radio station in the Little 5 points area of Atlanta. Not sure what the chick was tripping about especially with her child crying in the background while she’s trying to beat up the R&B singer, but Usher seemed to have handled it the proper way short of just walking away.

I’m a fan of the Swedish band Little Dragon & it’s obvious I’m not the only one as Big Boi aka “Daddy Fat Saxxx” has begun work on his next album which will feature a track or two with Yukimi of Little Dragon. While taking a break following a 10 hour recording session at the world famous Stankonia studios here in Atlanta they talked a little bit about the project. What I really want to know is where did Big Boi get that hoodie he’s rocking because that joint is kinda dope.

When Jill Scott’s “Light Of The Sun” album dropped I recall my interest in hearing this track first because of the unexpected pairing of Paul Wall & Jill on a song together. It’s another one of those couplings that the average fan wouldn’t really expect that still comes off pretty good. I remember feeling the same way on the hip hop side of things when Paul Wall teamed up with another Philly artist in his “State To State” collaboration with Freeway. This joint is the second official video from Jill Scott off of the “Light Of The Sun” album that’s out now.

DJ Premier x Bumpy Knuckles – “B.A.P.”

New joint from the collaborative album from DJ Premier & Bumpy Knuckles appropriately titled “B.A.P.” which is short for “Bumpy & Preem”. DJ Premier initially crafted this beat for Jay-Z for the Blueprint 3 album, but it was reportedly turned in too late. Now Bumpy Knuckles does his thing with the track & now this is the first single & title track from the album which is going to be released on DJ Premier’s Works Of Mart label in association with Gracie Productions.
