“I’m gearing up for the release of “Petestrumentals 2” with Mello Music Group. The first single “One, Two, A Few More” is actually a beat I made in 1995 and just sat on for years for the right moment. Now, I get a chance to release this and more new & unreleased music never heard by my fans with Mello. This instrumental LP will inspire the masses in anything you are doing. Just apply P2 to it and get on the road to success.” – Pete Rock

In a time where producers are being sued for samples and R&B singers are cussing more than rappers, a project like Hours Spent Loving You is something the game needs right now. Vocalist SPZRKT producer/DJ Sango give us this seven track EP that you can play from start to finish. This can be thrown on while chilling with your lady, or ladies while you’re thinking of your man, or if you just want to hear some nice chill music ‘Hours Spent Loving You’ does the trick. If you are not that familiar with Sango CLICK HERE for the interview ArtByOdell did with him when he was last in Atlanta.
Jaden Smith continues to impress me with his music. It’s not just the lyrical wordplay & flow that’s impressing me with each single or project he releases, but often times its the type of soundscapes he chooses to use. One very important element to a good emcee is being able to choose the right beats to convey the mood of the song you’re trying to create. It was a pleasant surprise for me to see that the son of Will & Jada collaborated with very dope producer TA-KU who’s music & production I’ve been following for quite some time now. Peep this #BeastMode mix that Jaden & Ta-Ku put together & if you weren’t already impressed, this should definitely do it for you. Artwork via samuelburgessjohnson.com/

DASH Radio is going to be as huge as Sirius satellite radio if not even bigger in the near future due to their enormous new deal with AT&T to provide their service in cars. There’s many great internet radio stations on the web, but the game changer is being able to get those stations in people’s cars where they can use it as effortlessly as turning on a terrestrial radio station. Unlike satellite radio which is a paid subscription service, Dash Radio is free & you can even download their app to listen to a variety of the stations they have via your mobile app. Make sure you check out our homie DJ Rasta Root who will be on DASH Radio’s ‘Native Rhymes’ channel from 5pm EST / 2pm PST today with a special tribute to the legendary ‘J Dilla’.

We talk about what’s hot in music, what’s wrong in music and Fabian shares a classic story of a party he attended in LA with Alan Thicke. New music spanned by Jayforce and commentary from Twice Born & ArtByOdell this is a must listen. So play, download, share and enjoy!
Gotta be the shortest mixtape on record (“12 minutes” elapsed time, really). Donwill and Von Pea get right to it and through it at Karriem Riggins’ spot. It’s good. Damn good. Just short. You still get your money’s worth (and not just because it’s FREE).
Fashawn over Alchemist production. Blessed. And that EP “Fash-ionably Late” is even more so. This video for a cut from the project, “Waiting in Vein,” ought to convince you by the second run through (once for the visual; then again for the content).
Got that FREE mixtape download linked below for you, too. You’re welcome!

How’s this for some exclusivity in the midst of folks celebrating the Nativity… This go-go’d out jawn “Miracle On U Street” (produced by Tone P and That Boy Good) you will NOT hear on the upcoming Wale mixtape “Festivus” but you can hear it here.
Lord have mercy, if they merc me, may my art live on.
– Dave East
Plain and simple. The music, message and medium. Gritty visuals go appropriately with gritty real-talk content: It ain’t safe “Around Here” for whack emcees in the game; or for anybody in the hood. Watch Dave East rhyme on all that. Hear and grab this hit and more off the East mixtape “Black Rose” below.

Wale with the fresh AudioMack leak – “The Chess Match” (produced by BKS). Slick Jerry Seinfeld drop at the top of the track. The track is off Wale’s “Festivus” mixtape (out now, Soundcloud set linked below).
Sometimes we have to be reminded that some of the best things in life are FREE… like House Shoes mixes… but only while they last. Stream this one below; and download a copy of “JuiceLand Radio #1″ to take with you. So much break beat dopeness. Enjoy!
