A native of Auburn, Alabama, SkyBlew found himself surrounded by negativity and violence from an early age. As a youth, bouncing from one foster home to the next, SkyBlew resisted succumbing to the influences of his negative environment and dire circumstances, instead choosing to soothe his soul and escape through his music. SkyBlew - then rhyming as “Young Millionaire” – would freestyle to himself, eventually writing his lyrics in 2004.  In 2008, Young Millionaire Mario reunited with his father and relocated to Carrboro, North Carolina. During this transitional period, he delved into his craft, shedding the cliché moniker Young Millionaire and linking up with other emcees and producers to build. Growing as an emcee – influenced by a colorful spectrum of artists like Blu & Exile, Common, Scapegoat Wax, Charles Hamilton, Lupe Fiasco, Blue Scholars, Little Brother, Common Market, and Amy Winehouse - SkyBlew soon blew up his own spot. He released mixtapes like “Above The Stars Is My Landing” and “The Extended Walk Home” that got him noticed by Hip-Hop heads, promoters, and bloggers alike.
