Dick Cheney Had A ‘Different Understanding’ Of The Vice Presidency (Trailer)

Is somebody risking too much for real behind this? I mean… we know Cheney was the Veep to joke on… but you might find more ‘realness’ in this real funny trailer for “Vice.” Maybe a bit too real for the ‘shadow president.’ Check it.

(Don’t @ me haters, and Secret Service don’t come at me. Just a blogger blogging on a blog over here.)

Watch An Extended Teaser For “Hostiles” (Starring Christian Bale) [Trailer]

Not that it’s anything to base what your personal experience with a movie will be like, but the ‘reviews’ on this western “Hostiles”… Whew! Might be too raw for some of y’all. Being called ‘one of the bloodiest westerns ever’ by some. Hopefully, it’ll be ‘bloody’ good, too.

We’ll see. Next month.

Meryl Streep & Tom Hanks Expose Government Corruption In “The Post” (Trailer)

In our society, the press is supposed to function as a ‘watchdog on government’… to ‘comfort the afflicted and afflict to comfortable’… a very necessary role. But we have seen, time and again, how that can be a very DANGEROUS role for those in the press; who have dealt with threats on their lives and livelihoods to keep us all up in OUR government’s business (because it is OUR business).

Watergate. Iran Contra. The baseless war in Iraq (to take out weapons of mass destruction that were NOT there)… scandals uncovered by the press. When they do what they are meant to do, reporters serve a critical role in our democracy; holding those in power accountable.

This is an homage to those in the press who did their duty, at great risk, back in the day. “The Post” is looking like another incredible movie that tells a compelling real-life story about what some key figures in the press went through to keep America (and the world) informed about what the government tried to keep covered up.

Steven Spielberg directs Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks in “The Post,” a thrilling drama about the unlikely partnership between The Washington Post’s Katharine Graham (Streep), the first female publisher of a major American newspaper, and editor Ben Bradlee (Hanks), as they race to catch up with The New York Times to expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned three decades and four U.S. Presidents. The two must overcome their differences as they risk their careers – and their very freedom – to help bring long-buried truths to light.

Christian Bale Stars In “Hostiles” (Trailer)

I’ve killed everything that’s walked or crawled. If you do it enough, you get used to it.

Daaayum! The eeriness of dialogue like that, plus the music in this teaser trailer, suggests a hardcore coldness about this movie… regardless of how hot the desert looks or how hot-blooded the fights. This ain’t no regular cowboys-n-injuns flick; more like tensions between Native Americans and uniformed oppressors pushed past the snapping point.

Looks like Christian Bale found a gritty post-Dark Knight role.

Black Mass (Trailer)

In 1970s South Boston, FBI Agent John Connolly (Joel Edgerton) persuades Irish mobster James “Whitey” Bulger (Johnny Depp) to collaborate with the FBI and eliminate a common enemy: the Italian mob. The drama tells the story of this unholy alliance, which spiraled out of control, allowing Whitey to evade law enforcement, consolidate power, and become one of the most ruthless and powerful gangsters in Boston history.

Looks like an early fall movie ticket to buy. “Black Mass” will hit theaters September 18, 2015.
