CyHi The Prynce – “Long Damn Time” feat. Jonathan Hay (Video)

I gotta admit. I was worried when the beat started all happy and sh!t… but then I remembered that CyHi The Prynce is a MASTER at rhyming, storytelling, and all things emceeing. After viewing, I ended somewhere between a ‘think about it’ and a ‘keep ya head up’ vibe. Now it’s your turn to experience “Long Damn Time.”

Cyhi the Prince’s new music video “Long Damn Time” offers insight into what actually goes down when a rapper hits the studio. Joined by producer Jonathan Hay at Atlanta’s Patchwerk Recordings, CyHi spends a lot of time of writing on the pad, pacing, looking out the window ruminating, reckoning with the beat. Such is the life of a writer.

Kxng Crooked – “Don’t Close Your Eyes (Ashamed)” feat. Truth Ali x Jonathan Hay x Morgan McRae [Video]

God, I told myself these are the words I’d never say.
I’m my own worst opponent, and it hurts in every way.
You ever thought about smashing the mirrors in the house,
So you don’t have to see the same person that hurts you everyday?
I have.
Kxng Crooked

Deep right from the start… Maaan, when we got wind of this a couple of months back we told you here the vid would be deep, too!

Kxng Crooked (of Slaughterhouse) opens up about alcoholism, depression and suicide in his brand new music video. The demo version of the audio to “Don’t Close Your Eyes (Ashamed)” dropped earlier commemorating the birthday of the late Keith Whitley. This is the official version produced by Jonathan Hay and Ajami (linked below). The single will appear on the forthcoming LP – “The Urban Hitchcock” LP – due out October 5, 2015.

“I’ve been in several dark places in my life, betrayed by those closest to me, or feelings of hopelessness in situations I can’t control, or even others trying to remove me from this earth. It takes its toll. I have to rise above and keep moving forward for myself and my loved ones. I like to meditate and read a lot so that helps. Music is my ultimate medicine, though.”

Much better therapy, Kxng. Respect.

The DAT Tape singles star CyHi The Prynce with a special appearance on Side B from Caskey. Producers Jonathan Hay, Mike Smith and King Tech produced these two singles with a throwback concept of Side A / Side B singles on an old school DAT Tape.

Side A: I’ve Been Waiting feat. CyHi The Prynce and Shalé
Side B: Flower In The Attic feat. CyHi The Prynce, Frankie Porkchops, Caskey, Mike Smith and Shalé

Now available through Spotify and Jay Z’s Tidal from the album When Music Worlds Collide, these songs were mixed to DAT Tape, which is the reason why they have the sonic personality that they do. Side A’s “I’ve Been Waiting” featuring CyHi The Prynce and Shalé is part of the reality series “The Haymaker.”

The DAT Tape singles were produced by Jonathan Hay, Mike Smith and King Tech of Shade 45.
