Hailing from Gary, Indiana (the same small town that gave us Michael Jackson, the Jackson 5, and Janet Jackson), Island Def Jam’s newbie singer K’La puts in worthy work with Nas on “Blame.” A few short years ago, K’La moved to Atlanta to pursue a music career of her own. Waiting tables to pay for studio time, K’La eventually met Anthony “T.A.†Tate (CEO, Tate Music Line). After auditioning for him, K’La signed on with the label and released a mixtape, “Coldest Winter Ever” (free download available here), featuring the track “All Your Loveâ€, produced by Stephen Marley. Fast forward to today: Now, she’s working on her debut album. Make moves, K’La! We see you!
