Jabee – “Tried So Hard” (Prod. By Phen) [Video]

Found another JewelRun The video above, the hit the jump for more on Jabee to truly get what I mean. They’re out here. Just gotta dig for ’em (or know someone with the hookup… I got ya). And for this one, you’re welcome!

The always real Jabee brings a powerful performance to his track “Tried So Hard” Phen (of Jivin Scientists). The soulful vocal sample and the vulnerability of his lyrics are emphasized by the haunting visuals of a man torn to pieces by the very people he craves to please.

Another amazing track and video from his latest album “Black Future” (out now).

Jabee is a rapper born and raised in Oklahoma City (Oklahoma, USA). While the City is not a known hotbed for Hip-Hop culture, Jabee’s accomplishments earned him local, then national attention. While on NBA lockout, Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant had Jabee perform at his All-star NBA game. And towards the end of 2013, Jabee was an opener for EL-P & Killer Mike on their Run The Jewels (RTJ) Tour. Following the RTJ Tour, rapper Murs caught wind of Jabee and his music; offering Jabee a one-off LP deal on his label, 316. Subsequently, “Everything Was Beautiful And Nothing Hurt” dropping in December 2013; debuting at #50 on the iTunes charts (still climbing with physical and digital sales). Growing buzz in the U.S. and Europe prompted Murs to ask Jabee to be the main supporting act on the Ice Box Tour the following year. Continuing in 2014, Jabee toured small venues and sports bars across the country around the time of the 2014 NBA Draft. Jabee was a vocal and focal point for a leading role in the new Nike x Kevin Durant Commercial (“The Baddest”). Soon after that commercial campaign launch, Jabee was nominated by the Academy Of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) for an Emmy! Shortly thereafter, Jabee won an Emmy Award for his performance in “What If” – a solo commercial he wrote and styled for the Science Museum Of Oklahoma. Recently, Jabee was invited to Shade 45 in NYC to be featured and interviewed by Sway of “Sway in The Morning.” It was then that Jabee was able to show his musical talent and range, and his star quality, balanced by humility, all while earning high praise from Sway and his crew at Shade 45; as well as folks at MTV.
