Family. It’s time for a serious discussion about the state of the family. Little Harriet Productions’ film “On My Own” provides an excellent start point – documenting the Black family institution pre-slavery (U.S.), the impact of slavery on our families, the impact of mother’s “going it alone” as single parents, the role of fathers… Coming from many sides of the debate, including the good D.A.D.’s who want to be the backbone for their families and children.
