Respect to Free Onsmash for finding this gem. Check how Abo chopped and screwed the SWV sample into the track for the song aptly named “Downtown” (visuals above).
Everybody wants to go someplace where everyone knows your name, and in Cordell’s hometown of Harrisburg, PA that place is Downtown. Regardless of which hood you claim, everyone will cross paths Downtown in good spirits. Check out the first official video from Cordell’s “Seven7teen: A Love Story.”

There’s no excuse for young cats in hip hop today to not be skilled at their craft. Biggie was battling emcees & nicer than what most would consider to be the best rap artists of this era. Keep in mind that Christopher Wallace was only 17 in this video. His challenger in the video eventually gave up & walked the f*ck off too. Crazy right? It’s Biggie’s early battle skills that sharpened him to be a talented artist & even crafting ill battle records like the one below…..
