Mr. Cheeks – “Greatest Gift” feat. Stephen Marley

Before you even ask… Yeah, THAT Mr. Cheeks… from Lost Boyz. Listening to the track might make you ask again. The Golden Era vet took sort of a different vector with the rhyme style on this one. The “Greatest Gift” (featuring Stephen Marley) could be that Mr. Cheeks is still out here turning in dope music. It just happens to also be the title of his latest jawn.

Stephen Marley feat. Melanie Fiona – “No Cigarette Smoke” (Video)

When the single to this song dropped back in February I had it on repeat quite often in my itunes, in the car, & around the crib. The song appears on Stephen Marley’s latest album Revelation Part 1: The Roots Of Life. The combination of Stephen Marley & Melanie Fiona is a definite good look for such a great song. Now we have the video to rock with it! Niceness! In case you missed the homie Jah Prince’s interview with Stephen Marley you can check it out at the link below as well…..

We chat with Stephen Marley as he travels on the road promoting his album, ‘Revelation Part 1: The Root Of Life’. We touch on his lyrical content and his recording process on the current project compared to his father Robert Nesta Marley who was known to record all in one-take. Stephen explains his growth as a stage entertainer and talks about his social commitment off-stage to help others humans, as just Stephen. Nigerian Rapper Wale is featured on the album and Stephen defends his subject matter on this album deflecting any comments from the haters in the media, ‘…haters, dat don’t work wid ini’. We end part 1 of this interview with light comments from the ladies, playing Dominoes on the bus & also mention Marley’s Mellow Mood, a beverage company & sponsor for the Root of Life USA Tour.

Stephen Marley – ‘No Cigarette Smoke’ (In My Room) feat. Melanie Fiona

Now this is some really good music right here that has me about to purchase a ticket to the islands after all this wintery weather. Stephen Marley drops this new joint featuring Melanie Fiona called ‘No Cigarette Smoke’ in anticipation of his upcoming project ‘Revelation Part 1: The Root Of Life’ due March 22nd. The sophomore album is rumored to feature Mos Def, Ben Harper, & Sizzla Kalonji among a host of other collaborators without diluting the reggae heavy sound. The album sounds like it’s shaping up well in terms of quality songs especially since I’ve still been playing the ‘Jah Army’ track alot that dropped earlier this year with his brother Damian. This particular song with Melanie Fiona has been on regular rotation for me on a personal level since I got it. The title applies to a few of my rules regarding my personal space & many of my friends can attest that I’d rather have Ganja smoke in my clothes than some nasty ass cigarette smoke. Rewind Selectah
