It should go without question that Atlanta’s DJ Toomp is a dope producer. Although DJ Toomp reps for the south, he’s crafted so many bangers for so many artists in the game that his sound can’t be defined by any one region. He doesn’t particularly have any one key sound either. One of the reasons Rick Ross has been successful is because he has a solid ear for beats & I’m positive he’s knowledge about key producers in the game like DJ Toomp. It was reported not too long ago that Jay Electronica went to South Africa not only for inspiration, but to record his upcoming debut album on Roc Nation. Unless you’ve been living under a “Roc”….Jay Electronica signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label last year & fans have been patiently waiting for the project. In the video we have here Jay Electronica lets the fans in on some of the recording process down there in the beautiful country of South Africa. The young lady he’s featuring in the video goes by the name of LaTonya Givens & she seems like she has some real earthy soul. That’s wasup!
