New video from “FayetteNam” North Carolina’s own J. Cole off of his latest “Cole World: Sideline Story” album. When I hear J. Cole’s “Sideline story” single I can’t help but think of CRU’s “Just Another Case” joint from over a decade ago. It’s largely because they both employed the same sample for their joints which are different but still come off dope.

One of J. Cole’s most poignant songs he’s made at this point in this career & a favorite amongst many of his core fans. Apparently he shot this video before he even had a record deal. It’s evident even he realized early the depth & importance of this particular record to shoot it in advance.

I thought J. Cole’s album Cole World: The Sideline Story could have been better but it was not bad at all. When looking at the big picture I’m still excited & happy for the young brotha from “FayetteNam” for selling over 250,000 copies in the first week. It shows that the tide is changing back towards more quality artists & subject matter in the mainstream. Especially for a newcomer like this North Carolina emcee & producer who proved that true fans matter the most despite commercial radio outlets around the country like HOT 97 in New York who gave him little to no radio airplay.

J. Cole Speaks On His ‘Mr. Nice Watch’ Collaboration with Jay-Z (Video)

J. Cole’s upcoming album ‘Cole World: The Sideline Story’ drops on September 27th & for weeks he had been waiting on Jay-Z to hop on one of his songs before the album was to be turned in for mastering. What J.Cole says Jay-Z did at the last minute for the ‘Mr. Nice Watch’ collaborative track didn’t surprise me at all. Check out the J.
