Various Artists – “Autumn In Jakarta” (Compilation Album)

Jakarta Records already dropped “Summer In Jakarta” and “Winter In Jakarta” in this its 10th year as a label. How about another seasonal compilation album? “Autumn In Jakarta” is 15 unreleased tracks from Jakarta artists and others they consider ‘friends of the label’ or just plain ol’ dope!

K-Def was is one of the best. Unnecessary as it is though, he looks to prove it to the now school. The Golden Era Hip Hop producer is promising a gotta-get album entitled “The Way It Was” to us soon. Well, that ‘gotta-get’… that’s not from K directly. But you listen to this K-Def x Blu collabo track, “The Boys,†and tell us that an old K-Def beat tape, touched up with new verses from Blu, won’t be on your list of must-haves! Dope and a coming album means there’s more.

Jakarta’s had its 10th birthday as a label. In the mix, its artists (and some associates) will be dropping 15 unreleased tracks as a FREE project due out mid-November. As for this “Everyday” track by Blu &Â Ta-ku; it was meant to be on a Ta-ku release that never happened. Well, that’s fixed now. In the stream above, hear the combo flow (complemented by scratches by DJ Greem Of C2C).

Think the theme comes through clearly on the second run. Adam and Eve…wedded bliss…communing with each other…but not really…enjoying the beautiful Garden…but not really… The gas masks have got to come off… assuming they were on to keep them alive… the two decide to take them off so they can truly live the rest of their beautiful lives together… however short a lifetime they would then share.
