You know what it is as soon as you read the title. “Get Down” is killer lyricals from Pharoahe Monch, turntable insanity (cuts by DJ Revolution), all over a banging track by Aussie beatmaker M-Phazes.
In promotion for Coalmine Records 10 year anniversary compilation album “Unearthed,” which is set for a May 13th, 2014 release date, the Brooklyn-based boutique label is pleased to present the project’s lead single “Get Down,” featuring Pharoahe Monch. The track is produced by Australia’s Award Winning M-Phazes, co-producer of Eminem’s “Bad Guy,” as featured on the multi-platinum selling ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2,’ and features scratches courtesy of DJ Revolution of The World Famous Wake Up Show. “Get Down” is to be released for Record Store Day, April 19, 2014 as a collector’s edition 7″ vinyl, with it’s release becoming available for digital download the following Tuesday, April 22nd.

M-Phazes on the beats with Sean Price on his wild lyricism is gonna hit heads in their heads on December 17, 2013. That’s when their collabo EP – “Land of the Crooks” – is due out (available for pre-order at iTunes now). Take a listen at the leak from that below. Sean P goes sex, violence and more violence on “Dump In The Gut” (produced by M-Phazes).
The recipe for today’s flavorful masterpiece of Hip-Hop includes three parts Brooklyn emcee – Sean Price, Billy Danze (of M.O.P.) & Maffew Ragazino – with prime cuts of DJ Babu (of Dilated Peoples)… expertly prepared by “Land of the Crooks” beat chef M-Phazes. Enjoy thoroughly. Say grace first. You have reason to give thanks… It’s FREE!
This version of Rah Digga’s single “Never Back Down” features Fashawn and REKS is the original. Its companion cut for a maxi-single is another version Rah did with Nitty Scott, MC – posted on here recently. Both versions were produced by M-Phazes. This original version will appear on a Coalmine Records compilation album entitled “Unearthed” (due out second quarter 2013).
Rah Digga respect! Former Flipmode First Lady still got the skills… and the guts! “Never back Down” features lyrics by Nitty Scott, MC, from NYC (by way of Florida by way of Michigan) and beat work by dope producer from Down Under (Australia) – M-Phazes. No word on whether this track is attached to a larger project or if it is a precursor to bigger things for Digga and Nitty. We just gotta wait and see… and listen to this banger right here!
‘[Melbourne (Australia) producer] M-Phazes is giving YOU a collection of some of his best remixes of artists like Cee-Lo, 360, Justice, Lil Wayne, The Presets, Michael Jackson and more as part of the launch for his brand new website.’
New Jersey Hip-Hop vet El Da Sensei is back with a remix of “To The Death,” a single that was originally featured on both the iTunes edition and physical CD of his “Global Takeover 2,” as well as on the more recent “The Nu World” (Remix) EP. Here is the video for the M-Phazes remix of “To The Death,” (originally produced the The Returners). Directed by Darius Waters for ODC TV, the video takes us through a day in El Da Sensei’s life in Newark – from the streets to the lab to the stage.
West Coast emcee Blu is rather erratic with how he releases projects it seems, but when he does it’s usually quality. This new joint called “Kiss The Sky” from the skilled emcee featuring the vocal strength of Mela Machinko & produced by M-Phazes is straight fiyah! The track almost has a Pete Rock feel from a production standpoint which begs the question as to when Blu is gonna do more work with more producers like Pete Rock & M-Phazes. I’m thinking people that want more from Blu after hearing this banger may have to pay close attention because Blu’s unpredictability in everything from videos, singles & album releases is just that. Wild unpredictable just as quickly as the weather can change on an otherwise clear day….
Australian producer M-Phazes just released a project entitled Phazed Out on Coalmine Records, which is a remix project featuring a lot of dope emcees. Check him out here breaking down the process of making the beat for a remix he did with Brooklyn rap artist Torae.
