“Cue 06” (by Madlib) is a tasty cut off the original soundtrack to the “Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton” Stones Throw Records documentary (out now on DVD & Blu-Ray with CD soundtrack). The official release for the 10-track soundtrack is set for July 2014 (according to the label’s website).

“Rock Konducta” is the latest in Madlib’s instrumental “Beat Konducta†series, the producer’s raw Hip-Hop beat tapes brought to life. This latest album finds it’s inspiration in various worldwide underground rock scenes from the 1960s through the 80s: American psychedelia, Germany’s Krautrock, acid-soaked Spanish prog-rock and synthy, early-80s oddities. Tied together by Madlib’s unique sensibility, these music scenes coalesce into a new whole.

The part time emcee/producer/soul singer has always been pretty abstract when it came to her visual representations & this latest one manifests a 70’s Grace Jones type of feel to it.Georgia Anne and Madlib happen to be 2 of my favorite artists, so I am looking forward to what they chef’d up in the lab for this project. The album drops for your audio pleasure March 27th.

Blu- Jesus (Video)

West coast flame thrower Blu releases some visuals from his Madlib produced joint “Jesus”. The album/mixtape/ep/lp (who really knows) was also called Jesus which was the precursor to Blu’s other 2011 full length release No York. This seems to be a trend with Blu dissappearing for a while, showing back up and in the words of Cappadona “dropping stupid Lp’s all over the place”. I guess some things aren’t meant to be understood, but one thing we do understand about Blu is, when he does show up he drops nothing but hottness. Enjoy!
