Well, I want to say thank you to Hieroglyphics Crew who had Little Brother on the bill for Hiero Day 2019. Phonte & Rapper Pooh rocked tracks from their classic “The Listening” album to current hits from the new “May The Lord Watch” album. New joint from North Carolina female emcee Rapsody called ‘Jedi Code’ off of her forthcoming mixtape ‘She Got Game’ that’s due to drop any time now. This 9th Wonder produced joint also featured some welcome guest appearances from ill lyricst/singer/comedian Phonte & the ever elusive Jay Electronica.

Phonte drops a brand new video directed by Kenneth Price for “The Good Fight” which is one of my favorite songs to bang out on the radio show. Not only is the subject matter relevant to the times right now, but the production on the track from 9th Wonder snaps too. Phontigallo’s ‘Charity Starts At Home” album was one of our picks for “Best Hip Hop Album Of 2011” & the North Carolina emcee, singer, songwriter, & part-time comedian is keeping the videos coming in 2012 from this incredibly dope album….

They never should have gave you nikkaz studio equipment! Hahaaa! This song is hilarious with all the ‘Swag Swag Swag Lil B type’ ad-libs going on, but on a serious level this smoothed out remake of the Mark Morrison original song ‘Return Of The Mack’ sounds pretty good. He when they seem like they are just playing with the music it still sounds good.

Phonte Releasing Debut Solo Album With 9th Wonder Serving As One Of The Key Producers

The folks over at The Urban Daily caught up with Phonte & 9th Wonder for an interview & they delivered some great news that many fans had been anticipating. Not only have the two reconciled their differences, but Phonte says that 9th Wonder will be contributing the majority of the tracks for the album as he’ll be responsible for the albums overall direction in terms of the sound. Phonte says he randomly chose September 13th as the release date for his solo project which coincidentally was the release date of the Minstrel Show which was the last Little Brother album the released together six years ago. Check out the interview HERE
