Slum Village is currently touring the U.S. West Coast and Northeast and Canada on the Dirty Slums Tour. The tour skips the big pond to do stops in Europe starting May 15, 2013. The tour is in support of their “Dirty Slums 2” mixtape (out now) and their upcoming LP “Evolution” (due out June 25, 2013). Here’s the video for the first single off that LP entitled “Forever” (produced by Young RJ). Check out the video via a post we did earlier here.

Although ‘Slum Village 2.0’ is without original members who’ve passed on in Baatin & J Dilla, 2013 will mark the 20th anniversary of Slum Village performing as a group as they are poised to embark on their new world tour.

Detroit’s Slum Village is gearing up to release the “Dirty Slums 2” mixtape with DJ Mick Boogie. This “RIOT” single off the mixtape features Rapper Big Pooh, Joe Scudda, and Kam Corvet. A good preview of what’s in store. The “Dirty Slums 2” mixtape is due out January 29, 2013.

Despite the passing of founding members Baatin & J Dilla, & the subsequent departure of Elzhi from the group, T3 picks up the torch & leads the new Slum Village forward with J Dilla’s younger brother Illa J & the kid Dilla taught how to make beats..
