Love Ultra Mix CD – Part Three (Urban, Soul, R&B) by Jah Prince
Another installment of the mixtape that compliments the ‘Love Ultra Radio’ urban mix show heard Tuesdays on DaFlavaRadio.com. Many of the songs were first blogged about here at JayForce.com with some added cuts straight from da Sunsplash Media vault. Selected joints from Ledisi, The Foreign Exchange, Naira, Emanny and Anthony David just to name a few.
Noel Gourdin with Jah Prince Interview on ‘Love Ultra Radio’
Noel Gourdin talks about his rise in the music industry and highlights the efforts of the team around him for most of his success. He is an accomplished vocalist yet and does love the freedom that being independant offers especially on the creative side. We joke about the women of Atlanta, life on the road including recent music events like ‘RNB Live’ and ‘Stevie Wonder’s House Full of Toys’ in California. We got the link from JayForce.com and was pleased to talk directly to Noel about music from his previous album, ‘After My Time’ and the current project ‘Fresh: The Definition’.

Fat Joe – “Another Round” feat. Chris Brown (Video)
Fat Joe drops the official video to his collaborative track with Chris Brown called “Another Round”. I’ve dug this song ever since I first heard it. It’s a bonafide hit & now they have a good video to accompany this joint….Word to Troop
Rashad feat. Styles P – “The Life”
Check out this dope joint from Ohio producer & singer Rashad featuring Styles P called “The Life” off of his upcoming “Museum” album that’s about to drop in 2012. Shout out to his manager & my good homie Supa Mariooo who gave me an advance listen of the quality project. Rashad has largely been the background crafting joints for many R&B & hip hop artists over the years, but with his new label Elev8torMusic I’m positive many people will be pleasantly surprised at this “Musuem” album when it drops. Most of us already in the know about how talented Rashad is won’t be surprised at all. ***Paul Wall voice*** “Allllready”

RASHAD – LUTHER’S BACK (LUTHER VANDROSS CHRISTMAS REMIX – THE XMAS BEAT)
R&B: Rochelle Jordan – Here I Go
Now this is a dope song from Toronto’s finest Rochelle Jordan who’s been serving up some impressive work of the last year . Her first free album R O J O was very good & this new jawn called “Here I Go” will be the first single to her next project simply titled R O J O II produced by her go-to producer & collaborator KLASH.
Robin Thicke on Chelsea Lately (Video)
Robin Thicke may have been just clowin’ around, but he seemed like he was drunk or high in this interview with Chelsea Lately. Robin Thicke’s new album “Love After War” is out now & it’s pretty good…
R&B/Alternative: Tawiah – Run (EP)
British soul singer Tawiah has been the background for many other names in the business for some time now, but she’s slowly creeping out & getting her just due recognition for her talent. The young singer spent a significant time touring the world working as a background vocalist in Mark Ronson’s band in addition to delivering background vocals for Corinne Bailey Rae & sometimes filling in for the late great Amy Winehouse. Having gained significant cosigns & recognition for her voice from artists such as Cee-Lo Green, Mary J. Blige, & Lily Allen, it wasn’t long before she signed a new deal with Warner Bros records. Tawiah is undoubtedly stepping out from the background with her new 5 song EP entitled “Run” that serves up as an appetizer before her first full length project is to drop sometime in 2012. This new EP is her second self-financed project since the one she dropped in February of last year called “In Jodi’s Bedroom”. Check out the title track from the EP below plus one of my favorite joints from her which is a remix to “Breakaway” off of her soundcloud page. Check out her new video for “Little Drummer Boy” that also appears on the new EP under the hood….

R&B/Jazz: Freddie Joachim – Patiently EP
I’ve been letting this new Freddie Joachim EP “Patiently” run a few times today while working. It’s a dope 5 song EP of soulful & jazzy instrumentals that serve as a nice appetizer to his next project “Fiberglass Kisses” due early 2012 on Mellow Orange Music. Freddie Joachim released this project late November & is donating proceeds from the sale of the EP to charity for the holidays. Check out some snippets from the project below or just go on ahead & download the full songs from his page. No singers or rap artists needed for this joint right here. Trust me you won’t be disappointed. I’ll be giving this EP significant spins until his next project drops. Until then we’ll be “Patiently” waiting for it…
R&B/Soul: Ishe’ – “Genesis” (Prod. By Hassaan Mackey)
Nice Herbie Hancock inspired & almost off beat/on beat joint produced by Rochester New York producer & emcee Hassaan Mackey. When he’s not out on tour with Maryland producer Kev Brown or crafting joints with his Detroit partner Apollo Brown as 1/2 of Daily Bread, he’s creating joints like these off of a brand new MPC he says he recently purchased. To make this jawn complete he reached out to San Diego’s own Ishe’ via twitter to bless the track vocally. It’s dope how social media can afford artists to collaborate with each other significantly easier…
‘Love Ultra’ R&B Radio Show with Pro Model Stacy-Ann Interview
We spin some new r&b music from Ledisi, Robin Thicke and Goapele then talk to Stacy-Ann about her work with Tyra Banks on America’s Next Top Model (Season #10). Stacy-Ann tells about small issues in the industry, how she like ripping the runway, and her love of Jamaica including being the face of CY Clothing (www.cyevolution.com). She does charity work and is currently working towards the 2012 season in Milan and South Africa.
Jesse Boykins III – “Light To Dark” (Video)
Jesse Boykins III makes his mini-film debut in this short film/video co-directed by Joshua Kissi & his Street Etiquette team. “Light To Dark” is taken from Jesse Boykins III’s Way Of The Wayfarer EP…
R&B/Alternative: The Internet – “Cocaine (Little Dragon Remix)”
R&B/Soul: Dezaray Dawn – “B-Tween The Lines”
Futuristic soul artist & Atlanta resident Dezaray Dawn’s music often feels like you’re traveling the world without physically moving anywhere. This may have been a subconscious effort in crafting her own sonic DNA since she was born in Germany & has lived in a multitude of cities in the U.S. & around the world before eventually settling here in Atlanta at the age of 16. Her musical roots apparently run even deeper as she is also the cousin of soul singer Anthony David, Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men, & Tiny who is the current wife of rap artist T.I. & former singer with the all girl group Xscape. Dezaray’s time as a DJ in a few clubs spinning progressive soul & other influences may have also helped shape her sound as well. Dezaray let loose this joint “B-Tween The Lines” for the fans, but those of you trying to catch up to her talents should peep her Deep EP produced by Marc Mac. The joint “Sail Away” is a joint I’ve had on repeat several times too…
R&B: CJ Hilton – “Cold Summer” (Video)
Baltimore singer & songwriter CJ Hilton has been doing his thing with several of the the R&B joints he’s dropped over the past few months. This joint right here I’ve even played on my hip hop show a few times because it’s just that dope. This joint produced by Salaam Remi has been a favorite in my itunes too since it dropped last month…
Anthony Hamilton – “Woo” (Video)
North Carolina’s most soulful singer Anthony Hamilton hits us with the new video his new single “Woo” off of his forthcoming album “Back To Love” dropping on December 13th. Although his signature is not readily recognizable in the song compared to others he’s crafted, Babyface produced this new single for Anthony Hamilton. Cool video & the sexy female detective in the clip is like “Wooooo”…(Warren G in “Regulate” voice at 3:10 mark)
R&B: Michael Francis – Make Love
New Jersey singer & songwriter Michael Francis is batting a 1,000 with the R&B joints I’ve heard him drop so far. One of his previously released songs entitled “Woman” has been getting alot of play from me on the ipod. Michael Francis was supposed to have dropped a full length project called “Cold Heart Chronicles” that I believe may been delayed at this point, but with good R&B joints like these I’m not mad at the kid. He’s offering advance copies of his full length project over at his website.
Ryan Leslie – “Beautiful Lie” (Video)
R&B artist Ryan Leslie took it to Paris for the first single off of his “Les Is More” visual album. He’s poised to drop a total of ten videos for the project in its entirety. After watching this joint, which I do dig from a visual & musical perspective, I almost didn’t notice that he’s doing more rapping than singing on this jawn….
R&B/Soul: Raheem DeVaughn – “Lotus Flower Bomb”
Raheem DeVaughn is one of the few R&B/Soul dudes in the game that can take a hot record & make it his own. Wale’s “Lotus Flower Bomb” joint featuring Miguel is quality record that sometimes I wished was just an R&B joint. Have no fear as Wale’s fellow D.C. native Raheem DeVaughn didn’t waste any time to crank back up his “Jackin’ For Beats” mixtape series with his take on Wale’s hit record…
