“Celebrate” must have a bit more ‘umph’ put behind it by those looking out for the commercial interests of Little Dragon. The track (featuring Agge) has only snippets posted to the Soundcloud and Apple Music. All good. Well, good thing there’s always YouTube… for now at least. Hit play above to get an earful before anyone gets the bright idea to snatch this down (or reduce play length to 30 seconds).
My favorite Little Dragon song re-interpreted just for sh*ts & giggles…Enjoy.
Polo! You probably know a producer or two who does stuff just because. But, in large part because they are not Marco Polo, the result actually sounds like it was sh*ts & giggles. No disrespect. Just saying.
Such will never be the case for Marco. The “Twice” track by Little Dragon was fully explored by Marco Polo, who laid claim and made it his own… with this tight remix!
Louisiana musician Mikky Ekko had a go at remixing Little Dragon’s single “Pretty Girls” (from their Nabuma Rubberband album). Changed up the sound and tempo. Aired it out, bullhorn-in-an-empty-room style. Interesting approach. Vibe out to it via the embedded stream below.
Neptunes is more than Pharrell Williams. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves. Sometimes his partner Chad Hugo reminds us… with a dope dolo demo of production skill. A little electro-funk remix of Little Dragon’s “Killing Me” should do it. Check it out!
(More after the jump.)
Vinyl Destination | Ep. 9 ‘Kid Cudi Bath Time Music’ On Season 2 With The Magnificent DJ Jazzy Jeff (Video)
“Nasty Nas Milkshake…” “…This milkshake is CRAZY!”
RESPECT to Vinyl Destination’s production crew for dropping in that “Room Test” by Dayne Jordan (fi-yah!) into this Episode 9 soundtrack right from the jump!
(Oh, and don’t think we missed Episode 8… it’s after the jump, mickey fickeys!)
DJ Jazzy Jeff, Skillz and the crew on to the next one… on to the next one… on their European tour. Manchester. Brussels. Zurich. Several destinations for this episode of Vinyl Destination. Fine and good… but this travel situation is kinda eff’d up (good shake though). Truth: Touring is not always first class travel and 5 star meals. Work life on the road. But a warm bath while listening to some Kid Cudi makes it all better, of course (wait, what?).
I remember a while back Big Boi tweeted that he was working with Little Dragon for a song on his new album ‘Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors’ that drops this Tuesday December 11th. Upon glancing over the tracklisting I’m surprised to see a few songs featuring Little Dragon will make the album. One of my favorites singles from the album “Mama Told Me” featuring Kelly Rowland was originally done with the Swedish band as well. Check out the video of Big Boi & Little Dragon performing “Mama Told Me” on Jimmy Fallon last night above then download the original version of the song below.
never to be released previously unreleased track from Shlohmo is actually a dope remix to “Sunshine” by Little Dragon. Has a Prince-meets-modern-Asian-orchestra vibe to it. Enjoyable though. Nice.
LITTLE DRAGON – SUNSHINE (SHLOHMO REMIX)
On June 28, indie alternative electro-pop band Little Dragon released a new single, “Sunshine,” in conjunction with Absolut Vodka, for Absolut Remix (the company’s alcoholic punch drink). Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, veteran Swedish-Japanese singer Yukimi Nagano is the lead vocalist for Little Dragon, which also features keyboardist Hakan Wirenstrand, bassist Fredrik Kallgren Wallin, and drummer Erik Bodin. You can peep the behind-the-scenes video here to get a taste of what Absolut and Little Dragon have going. The full audio for “Sunshine” is available here.

Check out this footage for Sweden’s Little Dragon performing at the UCLA Jazz Reggae festival from last year. The festival is set to kick off again in Cali during Memorial Day weekend for two days May 27th & 28th. Perfect timing for organizers to push this new video of Little Dragon performing from last year so that way fans on the west coast can check out this years lineup of The Roots, Bobby Womack, Shaggy, Don Carlos, Collie Budz, & more….
Little Dragon returns with the eccentric visuals for their track “Crystalfilm”, from their 2011 release Ritual Union. Directed by Daniel Wirtberg, the video conjures up an intense, visually provocative dream sequence. Little Dragon is good for keeping ish fresh and strangely innovative.

I’m a fan of the Swedish band Little Dragon & it’s obvious I’m not the only one as Big Boi aka “Daddy Fat Saxxx” has begun work on his next album which will feature a track or two with Yukimi of Little Dragon. While taking a break following a 10 hour recording session at the world famous Stankonia studios here in Atlanta they talked a little bit about the project. What I really want to know is where did Big Boi get that hoodie he’s rocking because that joint is kinda dope.
When I heard this joint from Little Dragon’s latest Ritual Union EP I literally played this joint several times over. The band dropped this EP as an appetizer before the release of their full length album of the same title, Ritual Union, drops on July 26th. German producer, DJ Tensnake, flipped this remix & I’m honestly feeling this remix better than the original joint. This track will be on constant repeat with me until the album drops on the 26th.
Damn this is a hot remix of Little Dragon’s ‘Looking Glass’ joint….nothing like great music. Hopefully the Trackademicks team will be able to get some official joints commisioned for Little Dragon in the future. Trackademicks have been doing some good remix work & it’s possible we may see some of their musical work land on Teedra Moses’s upcoming project now that she’s signed to Maybach Music Group. They did a few tracks on Teedra Moses’s last album Royal Patience so it’s definitely possible. Check out more from the Trackademicks team from their website Trackademia.com
I’ve been a fan of Little Dragon’s music even before I actually knew the name of the group. I first discovered their music in a repeated ‘Deja Vu’ like fashion through various social settings & art events I’ve attended. As a matter of fact I didn’t even know it was a group until much later. The Swedish band has been around for over 15 years, but I’ve only been familiar with their work in the last 2 or 3. I’m mad I missed the Little Dragon show in Atlanta the last time they came to town. Everyone who attended told me it was a dope show. Earlier this week the group dropped the first single ‘Nightlight’ from their third album ‘Ritual Union’ due July 12th. Their poised to have a big year as they we just featured in Spin magazine & will be performing around the globe including making a stop in my hometown of Philly for The Roots Picnic on June 4th. I posted the radio mix of their new single for all you DJs that need it, but fans can voice their support by going to itunes to cop the main version. As much as they’ve captured so many new fans I’m sure in 2011 we’ll see more of the ‘Rise Of Little Dragon’.
