Trey Songz – Top of the World
I’m diggin’ this joint right here from V.A’s finest Trey Songz. This sounds similar to the style that R&B artists like Toronto’s The Weeknd has been moving with, but Trey Songz has always shown he can adapt & flip any style for the most part. Supposedly this song will appear on his upcoming “Anticipation II” mixtape dropping November 1st. The first “Anticipation” project he dropped in 2009 was so dope that I was surprised they let that go for free as a mixtape…
Elle Varner featuring J. Cole – “Only Wanna Give It To You” (Video)
We posted this dope song on the site about a month or so back & it’s good they brought out the visuals complete with North Carolina’s J.Cole. Good timing for Elle Varner, who will be dropping her upcoming album “Perfectly Imperfect” later this year, because the video will give her some additional shine while J. Cole’s album Cole World: The Sideline Story just surpassed over 250,000 copies sold.
Pharrell – Frontin’ (Buzz T Remix)
This is just some Sunday hotness right here! This is a nice jazzy Bossanova remix that immediately fills my mind with images of Brazilian beaches, great food, & beautiful women. This remix to Pharrell’s hit record Frontin’ was remixed by Buzz T featuring the Menahan Street Band. If you dig this joint make sure you check out more DJ Buzz T remixes from his soundcloud page.
R&B/Soul: Quadron – ‘Wounds’ (Unreleased Version)
Quadron is a Danish duo consisting of singer Coco Maja Hastrup Karshøj and producer Robin Hannibal. The duo makes electric soul or what some call emo soul. I don’t understand the term “emo soul” because if it’s coming from the soul it’s always emotional. This joint is nice song to relax to. The beat and the vocals work together so well.

The Internet – Love Song
Singer & producer Syd Tha Kid is a part of that Odd Future collective that has been gaining plenty of publicity in the media. Syd, alongside fellow Odd Future member Matt Martians make up the duo called “The Internet”. The jury had been out with me on Odd Future outside of the great work of Frank Ocean, but if the rest of the collective keeps turning over quality like this “Love Song” right here then they’ll have a new fan in me. This joint right here is straight R&B/Soul, but the only problem I have with the song is that it’s way too short….
T-Pain – “5 O’Clock” featuring Wiz Khalifa & Lily Allen (Video)
New single & video from T-Pain’s upcoming album RevolveR. Guess the official video means that the oft delayed album is going to finally see a release date. I could have sworn Lily Allen was officially done with the music business, but then again maybe he just sampled her voice from another song. Either way this joint finds Lily Allen & Wiz Khalifa getting their international love collabo thang on….
Novel – Body Down (Video)
Written, Sung, Performed, & Directed by talented R&B artist Novel……Perfect timing in light of the recent events in the murder of Troy Davis by the state of Georgia.
I AM TROY DAVIS!
Glenn Lewis – Good One (Video)
Toronto’s own Glenn Lewis drops a new video to a song that I’ve been bumping in my R&B playlists on itunes for quite a while now. I recall R&B singer Mario had a version of this song that I heard back in June of 2009, but it’s quite possible Mario wrote the song & sold it to Glenn Lewis. Or Vice Versa. As a matter of fact I had put Mario’s version on one of my R&B mixtapes I released two years ago. It’s also possible the production duo of Dre & Vidal was shopping the song. Doesn’t matter because either way this is a great song & it appears Glenn Lewis is moving forward with the video & single push. Glenn’s got a “good one” right here…Nice!
R&B/Soul: Omar – “The Man” (Video)
British soulman Omar performs his new song “The Man” while walking the streets of Copenhagen, Denmark. Director Kristian Mathiassen had Omar sing the vocals live & when he later went back to edit the video he added the instrumental to the track & it came out kinda cool…..
Eric Roberson – ‘Picture Perfect’ feat. Phonte (Video)
The second single from Eric Roberson’s new project Mister Nice Guy? featuring Phonte.
Terius Nash aka The-Dream – “Long Gone” (Video)
New video for “Long Gone” off of Terius Nash aka The-Dream’s free album 1977….
Roane Namuh x Reva DeVito – “Should Have Known”
This joint is just too fly to ignore…..Check out this preview from Portland Oregon artists Roane Namuh (aka DJ Roane) & singer Reva DeVito. Revo DeVito dropped a dope 5 song EP last year called “The Catnip Collective” which showcased her range in style from R&B, Jazz, Soul, & some indie pop vibes. I’ve had this “Should Have Known” track on repeat a few times after hearing this jawn for the first time. Reva DeVito also has a few songs for free download on her soundclound page.

Frank Ocean – “Swim Good” (Video)
One of my favorite songs off of Frank Ocean’s Nostalgia, Ultra project gets a new video. “Swim Good” is the latest visual from Frank Ocean & they keep coming. Frank’s videos remind me of a period in the 80s when some videos you’d have to watch several times to get the full meaning if there was one at all. Overall you’d just enjoy it because it was creative, artistic & visually interesting. I’m not mad at all……. Frank Ocean does it again! Quality!
Frank Ocean – Thinking About You (Video)
Frank Ocean is handling things the proper way when it comes to his craft. It’s like he’s mastered the art of letting his art speak for him without doing a gang of interviews & other types of buffoonery that numerous artists repeatedly do to gain attention. In this new video Frank Ocean puts on another clinic in pushing the boundaries in true artistic expression beyond the 100s of R&B videos lacking creatively.
Lloyd – Dedication To My Ex (Video)
Lloyd drops the new video for the “Dedication To My Ex” joint minus Andre 3000 & Lil Wayne for the video. The video is still interesting to watch with that ‘ol 1950’s feel, but the lyrics damn sure didn’t change from it’s original raunchiness. While Lloyd couldn’t get 3 stacks or Weezy to possibly show for the video, Wayne Brady stepped up in the clip & didn’t have to even choke a b*tch.
Monica – ‘Anything to Find You’ (Video)
Monica is back with a new joint featuring Rick Ross. Check out the behind the scenes action with Monica after the jump…
Bilal – “Robots” (Tensei Remix) featuring Adad
There have been a few remixes I’ve heard to tracks off of Bilal’s ‘Airtight’s Revenge’ album that dropped almost a year ago. This one right here sounds just as dope as the original version to me yet totally different aurally speaking. Nevertheless it’s dope to have a good remix to breathe new life into Bilal’s project for those people who may have slept.
King Driis aka Idris Elba – “Private Garden” (Video)
In case y’all forgot or just didn’t know, Idris Elba (the actor) was King Driis the recording artist & DJ before the acting thing took off. Here he delivers a new video for his song “Private Garden” which was produced by 9th Wonder & the video shot down in one of my favorite spots in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I’m still bangin’ his reggae tinged joint “Hold On” which was also produced by 9th Wonder that dropped about a year ago. Check it out at the link below if you missed it….
