Great video from one Atlanta’s most talented emcees….. Stanza! This quality video was directed by the homie Will Feagins of the High Impact Designs Company. The song is from Stanza’s critically acclaimed street album/mixtape ‘Searching For Bobby Fischer’ that dropped on DJBooth.net, Okayplayer & many other popular blogs last year. 2010 was a great year for Stanza as an artist after dropping a few successful mixtape projects & even performed well on BET’s 106 & Park.

Stahhr – Still Dope (Video)

It’s only right that with my new blog I put up one of the first videos I directed. I’m proud to have worked with one of the illest emcees in the game…. ‘STAHHR’. Anyone who knows Stahhr knows she’s a take no sh*t type of female but she’s still a woman who is both sisterly & motherly. I wanted the video to show how much support she has from many people in various ways & also have shots that places her in her natural environments. Stahhr does plenty of community service like going in to the prison systems & helping in the community. She supports black owned & community funded businesses like the beauty salon we filmed at & the supermarket Sevananda located in little 5 points Atlanta. She’s tough, connected, talented, & also motherly. I wanted the video to convey all these things in a short amount of time. I remember listening to DJ Premier on Sirius XM playing her music & giving her the cosign, but he didn’t quite know her name. If he eventually catches the video hopefully he’ll have a better idea. Stahhr stopped by my radio show before the year was out & let me debut a few joints that had the listeners calling in like crazy about them. The joints she played were produced by a french producer by the name of Astronote & the production fit her voice perfectly. Working on new music, performing overseas…….yeah I’d say there’s more big things to come from Stahhr in the future because she’s ‘STILL DOPE’!

I always felt like if Killer Mike gets the right type of production for his voice & style he could continuously win big. There’s been several songs I’ve heard him on that I thought were perfect examples like Juggernaut, City Of Dope, Belly Of The Beast, & several others. Maybe Mike Bigga will make a few adjustments in his production style that Killer Mike may have overlooked in the past because this sh*t right here is a Certified Banger! Bang! Bang! Bang!

I believe Thee Tom Hardy is one of 9th Wonder’s greatest finds in terms of talent. The North Carolina native dropped a very good mixtape called ‘The Secret Of The Green Magic’ with the assistance of DJ Green Lantern & it was one of my favorites of 2010. Thee Tom Hardy maybe be rather unassuming in appearance, but his witty lyricism & choice production makes him stand out amongst many of the freshmen in the game. Homeboy Sandman is a truly gifted hip hop artist from his live performances, his recorded projects, to his video concepts, and on down to his artistic integrity. He’s such a true performer that I’m not surprised to hear he’s also branching out into acting with a few upcoming roles in some serious projects. I don’t think there’s been a rap artist in hip hop that’s as artistically capable since Mos Def. Check out the latest video ‘Strange Planet’ from his 2010 album ‘The Good Sun’.
