“Selling Drugs will get you caked up, It will also get you Long Years” – Jim Jones
This is my favorite song that I dig off of Dipset Capo Jim Jones’s recent project “We Own the Night, Pt. 2: Memoirs of a Hustler” that dropped back in September. Definitely one of the standout tracks from the EP & the production on it alone provides the proper soundscape as we now we have the brand new video directed by Donjai Gilmore & Young Prop being released today.
It’s good to see the Dipset movement is back & running again with their new banger ‘Have My Money.’ We had the audio from the joint we posted a few weeks ago, but now we have the brand new black & white visuals directed by Clifton Bell. For those of you not content with the small screen you can catch the Dipset Reunion on the road as Killa Cam, Capo, Freekey Zeeky, & Juelz Santana will be on tour with Funkmaster Flex as their DJ. Promoters better have their money… Word To Ed O.G.
Jim Jones revamps Chris Brown’s “Don’t Judge Me” joint that I really dig. Didn’t think it would take long for many rap artists to hop on it & put their own take on it like the Capo did here. I like how he worked in some of that reality TV footage too I see. All Good… #VampireLife
New video from Jim Jones that he directed himself for this “Cold” joint featuring the rest of his team….23 year old Philly producer Jahlil Beats is killin’ it with these beats though man…crazy!
According to TMZ, Harlem’s finest Jim Jones was maced & arrested following an altercation that began when an unknown man allegedly punched him for no reason before both of their entourages got involved which then escalated into an all out brawl in a Connecticut casino. Apparently while officers were trying to subdue an understandably upset Jim Jones, they maced & later arrested him….
The Capo Jim Jones drops second video from his new mixtape/street album “Vampire Life” but this time we guess he won’t be going to the VMA’s next year. I dug the visuals for “Millionaire’s Wife” but I hope he eventually drops an ill video for “Riding On Empty” off that #VampireLife
This is one of the bangers that really stood out to me from Jim Jones’s new mixtape “Vampire Life” that just dropped recently. I even played this joint on the radio show last Saturday night too. This is some really good timing by dropping the video for “Millionaire’s Wife” featuring his homie Sen City in some far off island (Dominican Republic?) with a bevy of honeys. Now I just need the Capo to eventually drop a video for that “Riding On Empty” joint off of the Vampire Life mixtape & I’m good…
There’s an abundance of mixtapes that dropped this week & Jim Jones’s new mixtape “Vampire Life” was one of the few that had a few leaks with “Millionaire’s Wife” & “Riding On Empty” that I dug before the complete project dropped. Check out the artwork, tracklisting under the hood & a few key tracks below…
I’ve said this plenty of times before that Jay-Z is talented, but he does a bunch of smoke & mirrors type of stuff behind the scenes that rubs people the wrong way. I’ve heard this story before, but in this recent interview Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, & Freeky Zeeky speak more in depth when asked about their past issues with Jay-Z. Cam’s imitation of Jay-Z is hilarious too!

I don’t particularly like this song that much, but the primary reason I’m posting this is because the video is hella creative. Jim’s video directing skills have really come a long way & I can definitely see a progression. Jim Jones employs a twitter theme for the track ‘Everybody Jones’ that appears on his new album ‘Capo’ which is now available on itunes. Personally the ‘God Bless The Child’ joint is one of my favorite tracks from the Capo album that really stands out. Maybe ‘Capo’ will get with Wyclef & shoot a video for that banger……
I’m a Jim Jones fan. I may not like EVERY song he’s released, but I’m still a fan. I think a few of the reasons I’m a fan of Jim Jones is seeing his progression as a music video director & also his tenacity as an artist in the music business. Above all else Jim Jones is good in his general interactions with all types of people from what I’ve observed over the years. He has that similar charisma that Snoop Dogg has in dealing with various types of people. I believe one of things that makes Jim Jones a star is this personality of his when in these more intimate settings among various groups of individuals. Although this clip is short I believe it sort of captures who Jim Jones is a little more beyond the amplified persona.
DOWNLOAD: JIM JONES feat. RELL – BLOW YOUR SMOKE
Jim Jones is one of those types of artists that aren’t necessarily the most lyrical, but I’ve been digging alot of joints he’s dropped over the years. This new joint ‘Blow Your Smoke’ with Rell is a feel good joint just before his new album ‘CAPO’ drops in February. Looks like he’s not gonna wait until Summertime to get this album poppin’. So for now….Blow Your Smoke
