The homie Marq Spekt enlists the talents of award winning director Will Feagins, Jr for the visuals to this “Aquamarine” joint from the Philly native’s collaborative album “Machete Vision” with producer Kno of Cunninglynguists. Peeping these visuals its clear to see that Marq Spekt brought along a few of his “School Of Sharks” members for the clip as producer Lex Boogie from the Bronx, emcee H. Pone, & ill female emcee Stahhr make cameos in the clip. Check out the dope video as MarQ Spekt gets ‘deeper than Atlantis’ in this new video…..
Oooohhh! Found THE female emcee, Atlanta’s own StaHHr, getting it in with The Red Giants (Jermiside and Brickbeats) on their mixtape (which we posted on here just a while ago)! Atlanta’s very own ill emcee staHHr has been busy since the “World of Greed” release (posted here)! This is another banger from the Mother of “Mother Nature with a Molotov: Molotov Season” – staHHr (the HH is for Hip-Hop) – entitled “On My Gonzalez” (Verson 1). Tag teaming with John Robinson and Ekundayo…on a Floyd the Locsmif production… this is some off-the-top-rope five-star Hip-Hop. They jumped the track and boom-bap beat it up! Check it out. You can cop a copy… of the single AND the full-length here.
Ptah Ra Tehuti and staHHr go off on the “No Church in the Wild” (see prior Kanye West x Jay-Z post here) beat in this video. Each being a force as individuals, the tandem do solid work here. Enjoy the vid and support both artists who continue to rep the real Hip-Hop fully!

This joint “Crown” produced by Paris France based producer Astronote is a favorite of mine that I’ve been blasting on the radio show on the regular. One of Atlanta’s most gifted emcees of the female variety Stahhr drops a new joint produced by Lex Boogie to get fans ready for Molotov Season in April 2012. Having worked with artists like MF Doom & countless others over her career & getting spins on programs like DJ Premier’s Sirius XM satellite radio show she’s now poised to drop her second full length album “Mother Nature with a Molotov: Molotov Season”. StaHHr was most recently featured in the March 2012 issue of The Source magazine, sharing her views on women in hip hop in the “The Plight of the Female MC” article.
By now you should have copped the Beatz & Lyrics 2 Go Vol. 2 A3C mixtape, but if you didn’t you need to go on ahead & download that joint from the link below. In the meantime check out this behind the scenes video showcasing all the DJs, Producers, emcees, visual artists, videographers, volunteers, & sponsors that made this all possible during the A3C festival last year. We didn’t make any money putting this together, but it was a labor of love coupled with plenty of hard work for us to showcase the artists & music we love & support. Enjoy!
One of Atlanta’s premier emcees, Stahhr, drops a new video for “Mansa Musa” off of her latest “That Was You?” mixtape with DJ Deliver. Look for Stahhr’s ‘Mother Nature With A Molotov” project dropping in 2012…
New release from Ga-bred producer Floyd the Locsmif. One of the most polished producers I have heard in a long time. This is his third installment of the heavily followed Divine Designz series. This one features StaHHr, J – Live, 4ize, John Robinson, and Ekundayo. This joint skillfully crafted on some avant-garde issh. Next level for sure. Check it out and COP IT!
Our homegirl Ms. Dia who also does a radio show on our radio station WRFG Atlanta, hosted a roundtable discussion with some of Atlanta’s most promising female emcees putting in work in the in the music scene. Skills first. For the full written transcript check out Creative Loafing.
Going through my 100s of
spam emails I don’t know how I missed this quality joint from MikeFlo & Stahhr who collaborated on this track called ‘Mountaintop’ with the MLK sample. The song was produced by Mike Flo & serves as an appetizer for a host of other collaborative projects Mike Flo has in the works. MikeFlo’s next full length project will be wit talented Atlanta emcee Ekundayo who together are ‘Alive & Well’. Stahhr is currently working on her next solo project ‘Mothernature Wit A Molotov’
Last year I directed my homie Stahhr’s video for ‘Still Dope’ which was produced by MF Doom & I was very proud to assist her with the project. It was a labor of love because I enjoyed the song & have mad respect for Stahhr over the years as one of Atlanta’s premier emcees period. We did everything literally on little to no budget but it still turned out dope. I also shot some additional footage that we were gonna use for an EPK but we never got around to getting the EPK edited after the video was completed. My West Coast homie Damu (also Stahhr’s manager) finally got the EPK completed sometime last year & uploaded it on youtube. My blog didn’t exist at the time but I know this is a perfect time to bring that video back for yall so people can get get focused again on the Queen before she drops her new project “Mother Nature With A Molotov” on Damu Music Group.
Lately I have been hearing a lot of really good hip hop from female artists. This is a duo from Texas coming with quality production and vicious lyrics. Actually I been hearing these ladies spit better and harder bars than a lot of the male emcee’s. Don’t sleep, these ain’t the typical sexed out, scantly dressed, sell my body, shake my ass for props hip hop from the ladies you maybe used to. Viscous Cycle, along with the likes of Dynasty, Boog Brown, Natee, Stahhr, Sa-Roc, Jean Grae, Eternia, Tiye Phoniex are tearin’ verses to shreads over gutter beats. Yo these ladies swords are sharp…so you better protect yo neck!!
It’s only right that with my new blog I put up one of the first videos I directed. I’m proud to have worked with one of the illest emcees in the game…. ‘STAHHR’. Anyone who knows Stahhr knows she’s a take no sh*t type of female but she’s still a woman who is both sisterly & motherly. I wanted the video to show how much support she has from many people in various ways & also have shots that places her in her natural environments. Stahhr does plenty of community service like going in to the prison systems & helping in the community. She supports black owned & community funded businesses like the beauty salon we filmed at & the supermarket Sevananda located in little 5 points Atlanta. She’s tough, connected, talented, & also motherly. I wanted the video to convey all these things in a short amount of time. I remember listening to DJ Premier on Sirius XM playing her music & giving her the cosign, but he didn’t quite know her name. If he eventually catches the video hopefully he’ll have a better idea. Stahhr stopped by my radio show before the year was out & let me debut a few joints that had the listeners calling in like crazy about them. The joints she played were produced by a french producer by the name of Astronote & the production fit her voice perfectly. Working on new music, performing overseas…….yeah I’d say there’s more big things to come from Stahhr in the future because she’s ‘STILL DOPE’!
