Mobb Deep Speak On ‘Fighting Like Brothers’ & Reuniting Again For Their Upcoming 20th Anniversary (Video)

In this recent interview with MTV, Prodigy & Havoc speak on their very public feud & beef which eventually led to the rumored breakup of Mobb Deep. We all know things appear to have been patched up since then, but this is most likely the first time these two have sat down on camera to discuss what happened from the beef to reuniting again as they prepare for their 20th anniversary tour that’s on the horizon.

Havoc – “Separated” (Real From The Fake) [Video)

Havoc releases the official video to one of the most controversial songs a number of Mobb Deep fans have been speaking on throughout the hip hop community called “Separated (Real From The Fake)” which is a not so subtle diss to his former partner in rhyme Prodigy. I’m sure Havoc has more to say regarding their beef when his upcoming EP entitled “13” is released in the near future.

Havoc (of Mobb Deep) – “Same Sh*t Different Day” (Video)

I keep putting Havoc… of Mobb Deep…for posts. Maybe that is just wishful thinking at this point. No need to rehash what’s beef or not. Did that already (peep the write-up on the “Same Sh*t Different Day” leak) in an earlier post here. But you must ask yourself: Who is the “victim” in this video supposed to be? Regardless, check out the video starring Havoc (of Mobb Deep) for the single “Same Shit Different Day.”

Havoc (of Mobb Deep) – “Same Sh*t Different Day”

Legendary producer Havoc (of Mobb Deep) drops the first leak from his forthcoming EP entitled “13.” This joint, “Same Shit Different Day,” features lyrics spit with a “hollow” effect applied (reminds me of that megaphone rap old school emcees like Paris used to use on tracks back in the day) over Havoc’s signature grimy production. Somebody spill the beans though: Did Havoc take a shot at Prodigy (his partner in Mobb Deep) on this track? Listen when Havoc spits, “N*ggas out here dry snitchin’ writin’ books / lyin’ out they ass just to sell a book.” That could be taken as a reference to Prodigy’s autobiography, “My Infamous Life,” (which caused quite a stir when it dropped last year). Well, we have a video post on here that has Prodigy squashing rumors of beef between the Mobb members; but that was then. What’s up now? Who cares. Just enjoy the H-A-V-O-C on the M-I-C doing it gritty; and let the rest rest.

Prodigy – “When U Up”

Prodigy gets back in H.N.I.C. mode with this new joint he let loose & gets real person on it. Even with a Mobb Deep album due for 2012, Prodigy lets it be known his third H.N.I.C. solo joint is on the way too. This joint right here “Bandana P” gets really personal & it’s all a part of life that everyone wants to be down when you’re winning, but no one’s around when the next hot guy is on top. Personally I feel it’s always good to keep your circle small anyway.

Prodigy Speaks On Saigon, Tupac, Jay-Z, & His Health (Video)

In this interview Prodigy details further why I have the utmost respect for Mobb Deep as a group. I get into it sometimes with Jay-Z fans who have a revisionist history about how Mobb Deep represented for the east coast back in the day when many other artists on the east coast were quiet as hell. Especially Jay-Z. In this interview Prodigy speaks on dealing with sickle cell anemia, his altercation with Saigon, beefing with Tupac back in the day & being willing to die for it, & how he felt when Jay-Z tried to fake like he’s always repped for NYC when it was time to do so for their city.
