Allied (Trailer)

“Inglourious Basterds,” “Fury,” and now “Allied.” To say Brad Pitt has a thing for doing World War II era films would be an understatement. This one looks to be a bit more on the drama-intrigue side of his storytelling spectrum. Good bet for a good movie though. Pitt usually does not put out trash.

“Allied” is the story of intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt), who in 1942 North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressures of the war.

Fury (Trailer)

They’re coming…300 of ’em…There’s 5 against 300.

We ain’t never run before. Why we gone run now?

An overwhelming enemy force on the approach to annihilate a much smaller force fighting for its way of life away from home; the fate of so many in the hands of so few. Like they tamped down the numbers of the Battle of Thermopylae told by the CGI-heavy “300” movie and updated arrow, sword and shield weaponry with tanks, guns and ammo. Check out the first trailer for Brad Pitt’s upcoming war epic (due out in theaters November 14, 2014). Not much obvious CGI in the trailer above though; looks to rely on a gritty, provocative story steeped in World War II era Germany. Pitt can hold his own in a tale of this magnitude certainly. Going to be interesting to see if co-stars like Shia LaBeouf and Michael Pena can keep up with their WarDaddy (lead character, played by Pitt) in this heavy heady film.

Inmates and Prison Officials Agree: “The House I Live In” Documentary Exposes The Failures of The U.S. War On Drugs Policy (Video)

HEADLINE: Inmates and Prison Guards AGREE on Failures of the Drug War!

Above is a behind-the-scenes teaser for a screening for Eugene Jarecki’s documentary “The House I Live In.” The venue: Joseph Harp Correctional Center (Lexington, Oklahoma, USA). Making a documentary at a jail… sure. But viewing it there, that’s different. But you know drug enforcement policy is more than a bit *messed* up if the C.O.’s and the prisoners can agree that it is!

See clips from the film (executive producers: Brad Pitt, John Legend, Russell Simmons and Danny Glover) after the jump. VERY interesting…

Moneyball (Trailer)

While I was sitting in the theater over the weekend waiting for Green Lantern to begin, the preview for the upcoming film ‘Moneyball’ came on. Due in theaters September 23rd, the film revolves around the struggling Oakland A’s Major league baseball franchise & one man’s attempt to change the franchise’s fortunes around. After watching the trailer I was excited to see this film starring Brad Pitt as it’s based on a true story story & book written by Michael Lewis.
