Watch The Red Band Teaser For “Sorry To Bother You” (Trailer) [NSFW]

Well, damn. ‘Weaponized hilarity’ for a film about telemarketing though? Okay. The jury was kinda out with us on this flick, but Lakeith Stanfield gets a nod for his work in “Atlanta” to be certain. He and Zazie are on to other screens with their careers since their Fx breakthrough. Good looks!

“Sorry to Bother You” is a 2018 American science fiction comedy film written and directed by Boots Riley, in his directorial debut. It stars Lakeith Stanfield, Tessa Thompson, Jermaine Fowler, Omari Hardwick, Terry Crews, Patton Oswalt, David Cross, Danny Glover, Steven Yeun, and Armie Hammer. Set in Oakland, California, the film follows a young African-American telemarketer who adapts a White accent in order to thrive at his job.

The film showed at the Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2018. It is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 6, 2018, by Annapurna Pictures.

Inmates and Prison Officials Agree: “The House I Live In” Documentary Exposes The Failures of The U.S. War On Drugs Policy (Video)

HEADLINE: Inmates and Prison Guards AGREE on Failures of the Drug War!

Above is a behind-the-scenes teaser for a screening for Eugene Jarecki’s documentary “The House I Live In.” The venue: Joseph Harp Correctional Center (Lexington, Oklahoma, USA). Making a documentary at a jail… sure. But viewing it there, that’s different. But you know drug enforcement policy is more than a bit *messed* up if the C.O.’s and the prisoners can agree that it is!

See clips from the film (executive producers: Brad Pitt, John Legend, Russell Simmons and Danny Glover) after the jump. VERY interesting…

MOOZ-lum Theatrical Trailer

Looking forward to seeing this film in the near future especially considering the social & political mirrors taking place. Here’s more about the film:

“Pulled between his strict Muslim upbringing by his father and the normal social life he’s never had, Tariq Mahdi (Evan Ross) enters college in a state of confusion. New relationships with Muslims and non-Muslims alike challenge his already shaken ideals, and the estrangement with his mother and sister troubles him. With the help of new friends, family and mentors, he begins to find himself and open up to an Islam he hasn’t been exposed to. But when the attacks of 9/11 happen without warning, he is forced to face his past and make the biggest decisions of his life.

Written and directed by Qasim Basir, Mooz-lum is one of the first-ever American feature films depicting the life of a young Muslim-American. The all-star cast includes: Danny Glover (Dreamgirls, The Color Purple), Nia Long (Are We There Yet, Love Jones), Roger Guenveur Smith (American Gangster, Do The Right Thing), Summer Bishil (The Last Airbender, Towelhead) and Evan Ross (ATL, Pride). ”

I’m looking forward to catching this film when it debuts in select theaters. Hopefully Atlanta will be one of the chosen cities when it’s released February 11th. You can still cast your vote for the film to be screened in your city today by making sure you go to: http://www.eventful.com/moozlum
