Audio Push – “Play Action” feat. Hit-Boy (Prod. By G Dave x Hit-Boy) [Video]
Gotta feel this new “Play Action” from Audio Push (featuring Hit-Boy). Certainly feeling how they slipped in the fit-n-thick Honeyz in the visuals above to ‘make em flip’ (hahaaaa)! Get this single on the “90951” album Audio Push is pushing right now.
MaxPtah – “Breathless” feat. StaHHr
Been a long time since we’ve heard from StaHHr. Good to hear…esp. since she has been keeping the rhyme skills up to par. Here she is teaming with Memphis (Tennessee, USA) producer MaxPtah on the single “Breathless.” You can get that on “Full Range Frequency” (LP).

Like – “Vice” (Video)
That dude Like from Pac Div… He’s back with a full-length LP on the way (“Songs Made While High,”, due out September 30, 2016). And lookit: Here’s the first visual, for “Vice,†off the forthcoming project.
The concept for the video is going into detail about people’s vices – whether it’s sex, drugs or alcohol. We focused on dark yet neon colors captivating the illuminating mystique of night; where temptation of addiction is most busy.

ScHoolboy Q – “Overtime” feat. Miguel x Justine Skye (Video)

Reks – “Gone Baby Gone” (Prod. By Large Professor)
And with “Gone Baby Gone†(produced by Large Professor), REKS has released “The Greatest X” (pronounced “The Greatest Unknown”). The single is yet another banger, but check out what REKS said about the long-awaited album…
Over the past two and a half years I have been recording songs with the understanding this would be album number 10 for me and thus something monumental. “The Greatest X” is a valuable addition to my catalogue; and an important album for Hip-Hop period. I liked the idea (double-album) because it would represent something special for album number 10. “The Greatest X” is more of an experience than it is an album. It is one of my proudest accomplishments.

De La Soul Is Not Dead (Documentary)
Gotta love the insistence of these recent De La Soul documentaries. Earlier, we posted “We’re Still Here” on the DayGlow Bros. Now, we get a “De La Soul Is Not Dead” documentary… that is so dope! And you gotta love that Prince Paul (The Doo Doo Man, DJ for legendary Hip-Hop crew Stetsasonic) kicks this thing off & narrates, being so integral to the Soul’s success from jump!
Guaranteed that even the most knowledgeable De La fans will get something from watching this.
De La Soul: We’re Still Here (Now)… A Documentary About Nobody (Video)
Oh yessir! As of August 26, the wait is over! De La Soul’s jawn “and the Anonymous Nobody…†is out. Long time coming, and the story behind its getting out here is likely one worth hearing. Want to hear the story? Here it goes!
(Very dope.)
Kanye West – “Fade” feat. Ty Dolla $ign x Teyana Taylor (Video)
Oh my, on my everything… Teyana Taylor is so gee-yot-dam HOT in this vid!! Cleveland Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert, her husband, is a lucky mutha-shut-yo-mouf (especially at the end of this…WHEW)! Kanyeezy does it again for sheezy. Ty Dolla $ign on the track, too. But make no mistake: Teyana is the star of this special presentation for “Fade” off Ye’s “Life Of Pablo” LP.
Joell Ortiz – “Precious” feat. Raven Felix (Prod. By 20th Letter) [Video]
The “That’s Hip-Hop” LP is out… like NOW! We posted on it yesterday here. Trying to hip y’all on the dopest music daily; so how about this? Another video leak from the LP – “Precious” (featuring Raven Felix). Produced by 20th Letter.
Yessir. Raw; kinda racy at parts! Enjoy (the story and visuals).
“Tiny Desk Concert” Series Welcomes Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals (Video)
Anderson .Paak and his band The Free Nationals… Much of their sound is layered atop a soulful Hip-Hop foundation; from there, your safest bet is to call it a hodgepodge of genres in the best way possible. Guitarist Jose Rios and bassist Kelsey Gonzalez inject a hard-rock edge into the Hi-Tek-produced “Come Down,” this set’s opening number. When you hear them play the first few jazz chords of “Heart Don’t Stand A Chance,” it’s hard to simply call this R&B…
But what you can call this is a dope set, a mini-concert, a NPR Tiny Desk Concert. Yeah, call it that. Now listen to the band and .Paak.
Joell Ortiz – “Walk With Me” feat. Whispers (Prod. By Domingo x Armada Beatz)
If the leaks’ heat is any indicator of the temperature level of Joell Ortiz’s and Domingo’s project “That’s Hip-Hop” (out now)… then this “Walk With Me” is another signal of a banging body of work. Know what? Hear proof for yourself after the jump (where the album stream is embedded). And just as you get used to Whispers collaborating with Chris Rivers all the time, Joell drafts the homie for a track attack. Beat by Domingo & Armada Beatz.
JOELL ORTIZ – WALK WITH ME FEAT. WHISPERS (PROD. BY DOMINGO X ARMADA BEATZ) | THAT’S HIP-HOP (LP)
De La Soul – “Greyhounds” feat. Usher
Can you believe there are still more bangers to drop from De La Soul’s new album “and the Anonymous Nobody…” though? You should, because here is another – “Greyhounds” featuring Usher. So dope… and there’s a story behind this jawn, too.
We were taking a break from recording to drive and get some food. Along the way we passed the bus station and someone in the car said, in a tour guide voice, “and to the left is the bus station where people come from everywhere to get their piece of Hollywood.” I immediately thought that would be a great song, having the entry and departure point of the story be the Greyhound bus station. A few weeks later, music from a jam session presented itself as a perfect fit for that subject, birthing the song “Greyhounds.”

Big Piph – “Burning Embers” (Suitcase Session) [Video]
If you are a regular partaker of the greatness on this site, then perhaps you are familiar with my Arkansas bredren Big Piph (some know him as Epiphany, all good). If you are a first-timer or ‘infrequent flyer’ or just unfamiliar… click on the name or do a search on here for all the dope stuff dude does on AND off the mic. World traveler, Hip-Hop Ambassador (for real, for the U.S. Embassy no less), dope music collaborator, and much more. If you need to catch up on your Big Piph knowledge, do that. But definitely catch this “Burning Embers” jam he put down. Dope video!
Suitcase Session #7 Big Piph performs “Burning Embers” from his 3rd full length album “I Am Not Them.” Along with the rest of the crowd at last Hot Water Hills Music Festival, I was blown away by his performance with full band Big Piph & Tomorrow Maybe. He released his 4th full-length album “The Legacy Project” this month and is always active in strengthening the community by helping coordinate great educational programs such as Global Kids-Arkansas and Books & Bagels.
