Jay-Z Accused Of Forcing Residents Out Of Condos In Philadelphia
Fox News is reporting that Jay-Z’s realty company is forcing people out of a luxury apartment building he is part owner of in Philadelphia. Current and former tenants accuse Jay’s legal team of harassing them to move out of the building even though their rent has been paid. The building has 24 units and 15 people have already left. Tenants say Jay’s legal team have filed lawsuits against every tenant in efforts to try to evict them. They also say the realty company has given out their personal information to other realty companies who call constantly to get them to show their apartments.

Freeway X Jeezy? (Video)
Who knows if this is just chatter or if its real, but I don’t feel like Free needs a label situation with CTE or a major. He has made his moves after the Roc broke up and has been able to eat. If they do pursue signing him I’m sure he has the leverage at this point to make it worth while.

Lil Wayne’s Record Sales Of ‘The Carter IV’ Exposes Problem with Hip Hop Pundits & Influencers
Lately there’s been a huge uproar from hip hop journalists & bloggers who are in disbelief about Lil Wayne’s record sales numbers of his new ‘Carter IV’ album. First of all sales don’t determine if an album is good or not, but many critics are still making a big deal of it especially considering many of these said critics were still in a celebratory mood following the release of the first week sales figures of Kanye & Jay-Z’s Watch The Throne album. Although I’m not much of a Lil Wayne fan, I don’t think his first week sales numbers of over 940,000 are too far off based on the diverse group of fans that Weezy has.  Lil Wayne’s fans cross a wide variety of demographics from teenage girls, skateboarders, hipsters, hood fellas, hip hop heads, rockers, & maybe even sports fans. If you’ve been fortunate to travel to other countries like I have over the years you would know that Lil Wayne is more popular than Jay-Z in many places. I’ve seen it & I’ve also interviewed fans about their favorites. Check out the article below from writer Hyun Kim as he adequately breaks down the reason for Lil Wayne’s success with sales of the Carter IV album. His article is the most intelligent, researched, fact based & thorough assessment as to WHY sales of the Carter IV did better than Jay-Z & Kanye West’s Watch The Throne album which was heavily supported by many of the same critics.
Phonte Speaks On 360 Deals (Video)
Many new artists are still in search of a record deal with a major label instead of trying to maintain some type of independence with their art, but what many of them fail to realize is that almost all deals with major labels are “360” deals. For those of you who in the dark it simply means that the label gets a piece of everything you do from album sales, touring, & damn near everything else. In this particular interview Phonte gave his opinion on these contractual agreements that have now become the industry standard with the majors. Phonte is releasing his first solo album “Charity Starts At Home” on September 27th & with everything he’s said in this interview it’s not surprising that he’s dropping the album on his own Foreign Exchange Music label. Check out the lead single below….

New Native Instruments Maschine Controller (Video)
Native Instruments has finally joined the ranks of every other company who has made a successful music production piece with the creation of the Maschine Mikro. When companies come up with a successful production center they follow up that release with a more affordable, inferior scaled back version of the successful piece. Like Akai with the MPCs 500 and 1000 this joint is smaller and has many of the same capabilities. Time will tell how this joint will fair in the market place tough.
