If you’ve been following JAYFORCE.COM regularly then you already know I’m a fan of Stacy Barthe’s music. The Grammy nominated singer & songwriter has been crafting huge hits for various names in the game from Rihanna, Katy Perry, Britney Spears & more. She even was the voice on the hook of the T.I. & Andre 3000 standout collaboration “Sorry” although she wasn’t initially listed on the credits. It goes without saying she’s been in the background far too long. This new record “Hell Yeah” produced by K. Roosevelt featuring Rick Ross should help bring more attention her way further highlighting just how talented this woman is. This joint is solid & Rick Ross doesn’t sound out of place on this soulful joint. Stacy is now signed to John Legend’s HomeSchool/Motown label & things appear to be moving as she’s set to release her upcoming “P.S., I Love You” EP on Valentines Day. Good music, real lyrics, great vocals….yeah it’s a wRAP.

I’m gonna drag this joint into one of my R&B slow jam playlists & put it on one of the next R&B mixtapes I put together. Chicago’s Donell Jones is back at it again with that REAL R&B music. This is the title track for his upcoming album entitled “Forever” due in May. Judging from the sounds of this joint I’d say Donell is still in great shape musically by bringing nothing but that real R&B instead of switching things up with ‘Trap & B’ or some other musical flavor of the month. This is some true school ‘cruising in the whip late at night’ type of music right here….

Walken, Pacino, & Arkin Are All “Stand Up Guys” (Movie Trailer)

“Stand Up Guys” tells the story of Val (played by Pacino) released from prison after serving twenty-eight years; being a ‘stand-up guy’ (e.g. refusing to give up one of his close criminal associates). His best friend Doc (played by Walken) is there to pick him up, and the two soon re-team with another old pal, Hirsch (played by Arkin). Despite their age, they still let bullets fly, burn out car tires… and try to catch up on all the crime, drugs and sex they’ve missed. But one of these friends has a dangerous secret dilemma. A former mob boss has a difficult ‘job’ for him that he must do; and his time to find an acceptable alternative is running out. As the sun rises on the guys’ legendary reunion, their position becomes more and more desperate, and they finally confront their past once and for all.

Tommy Lee Jones and Matthew Fox Seek Justice in Post-World War II Japan In “Emperor” (Movie Trailer)

War being an ultimate evil, carried out by loyalists who kill and destroy on a massive scale, how can we hope to bring ‘war criminals’ to justice – to bring closure to the war and ensure justice and peace for both sides? Can we call an enemy combatant a criminal who was doing the same thing our warriors and officers were doing just because we won? Big dilemma.
As the Japanese surrender at the end of WWII, General Douglas MacArthur (played by Tommy Lee Jones) charges General Bonner Fellers (played by Matthew Fox) with the task of deciding if Emperor Hirohito will be hanged as a war criminal. Influencing Fellers’ ruling is his quest to find Aya, an exchange student he met years earlier in the U.S.
“Emperor” tells a portion of the story of post-war justice in Japan (with a love story sort of mixed in, of course). Bold (and secret) moves that won the peace in that time are shared and explored. But more pressing than the measures taken, consider a couple of the issues/questions faced at the time:
- Emperor Hirohito was considered a god to many in Japan. How do you bring a god to man’s ‘justice’?
- Emperor Hirohito being a spiritual leader, not a figure wielding much political or war-making power, may have been no more than a figurehead for government and military officials to use to rally troops. Can we find justice in sentencing a figurehead to death?
A spiritual figure of a people put to death for ‘crimes’ per the judgement of those who had the power to do so. Why does that sound familiar? Argh! I know this one… hair like wool… feet like bronze… Jesus why can’t I remember?
Well, I’ll leave it there. Interesting story. Looks like this could be a good movie. Tommy Lee Jones movies often are.

Got a new artist… well, new to you… to check out. Making his way around the interwebs, Thad Reid is making noise; because the Madison Heights (Virginia, USA) has got something to say and an appealing way of saying it:
‘Well, I can`t speak for anyone else but I will tell you that the music I make is something that you`re not going to get from a lot of other artists, and that`s the fact that its honest, says Reid. The funny thing is, is that most of the buying public is doing the same thing I’m doing, working hard, taking care of family, going through situations, and I feel like that`s one of the main reasons I connect with people. The Black Opera hit us off with something new. Been checking for them for a while now; with good reason. Work like this keeps us on edge, conscious, affected. It’s what art is supposed to do. Hip-Hop… art. Respect to The Black Opera for this latest piece of art – and visual dramatization – a “Fxckin Problem” (and it is…just watch).
‘In times like these, Dark Comedy is no laughing matter. So with all jokes aside, we wanted to put a satirical spin on A$AP Rocky’s “Fuckin’ Problem” in order to address current events and issues. Events and issues that include the school shooting in Connecticut, gun control, mental health, and America’s prescription drug addition amongst others. RIP to everyone that lost their lives in the Newtown, CT school shooting and the innocent lives lost everyday in these streets and around the world.’
