Bryant Gumbel Speaks On His Son Being Victimized By ‘Blue on Black’ Crime (Video)

For as far back as I can remember, I have stood on the ‘Blackness’ of Bryant Gumbel. Time was, back in the day (on NBC), folks thought he was a sellout or out of touch with his community (calling him way worse). His harder-hitting stances and tenure on HBO Real Sports have given him the Bryant-don’t-play-that edge that has backed haters off a bit over the years; but still, some folks were still playing him like he wasn’t Black enough.

Any haters out there left, eat it! Sh!t or d!ck, you choose. Mr. Gumbel is one of us who can articulate the struggle ALL people of color face in this life…from a personal point of view. Watch him speak on it; relating events that included cops victimizing his son.

Sportscaster and TV host Bryant Gumbel reveals his personal feelings on the recent surge of “Blue on Black” incidents involving police violence against minorities in this interview that airs on PBS on Aug. 6, 2015. For more visit www.charlierose.com.

Nas Speaks On ‘Illmatic XX,’ On Professional And Personal Growth And More With Charlie Rose (Video)

Popular pundit and PBS mainstay Charlie Rose invites Nas to his plain table for a no frills discussion, patent format for the show. Really revealing talk. Among other things (highlighted in the clip above), Nas shares that he has changed as a man… more calm and accepting as a person of others. Now truly a proud American, but having no desire to be ‘accepted.’ He wants to find his place in his American family, to ‘work his soil’ and make his way in this world that he more completely understands. Twenty plus years into his career, father of two children… this is real man talk here. Watch the clip.

Technology: Qualcomm’s Paul Jacobs Sees a Bright Future for Smartphones (Video)

Qualcomm was the chip company smart enough to put Internet protocols into cell phones right around the time the ‘Net was becoming accessible to the general public (early 1990s). The guy at the helm of a company that demonstrates such foresight is someone to whom we should listen, right?

Well, whether or not you do, I am listening to what Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs has to say:

‘There are a lot of opportunities… Obviously, the smartphone trend is going to continue… There will be 5 billion smartphones sold between now and 2016.’

Paul Jacobs

5 billion!! Did y’all get that? Now, what would smart folks in media (radio, TV, performing artists, promoters, bloggers, etc.) be looking to do in light of such a tip from such an authority as Jacobs? I dunno.

(Yeah, I do. Look left. You can download the JayForce mobile app… to interact with this site via phone… to listen to Beatz & Lyrics with JayForce via phone… you… do get it, right?)

So, just how far can this mobile trend take us? Possibilities for business are obvious; but what about for humanity. Check it:

‘Let me tell you something that’s pretty cool. There’s a researcher we’re working with who has an idea to put a tiny chip inside your bloodstream … and it’ll maybe lodge in your wrist and look for certain indicators that in two weeks you might have a heart attack. Can you imagine that? So your phone will ring and tell you to go to your doctor. That’s in the lab right now. People are working on that now.’
