Off the album “Here” by Alicia Keys (still makeup-less in this vid; still lovely as ever), this is “Blended Family” (featuring A$AP Rocky). An incredibly real feel of love-in-spite-of coming from Alicia who’s coming from a genuine place with it. You probably know the Swizz–Alicia–Mashonda situation…went from the worst mashed up situation to a more-than-cordial one. The vid is well worth the watch. And the album, likely worth the cop.

No surprise that the news of a coming Trump presidency has hit the ‘hood hard. But perhaps a positive byproduct is the music rappers are making because of it. Anger, consciousness, encouragement… worthwhile foundations for dope music. There’s more than enough lamentation and trepidation to spur on the movement. We heard that “Fire” single from Rapsody. Now you can sample/stream KXNG Crooked’s “Good Vs Evil” album sparked by fears & feelings brought on by the recent political upset.
Four years from now we’ll see if I was channeling my inner Nostradamus when creating this album. I say that because the arch nemesis in the storyline is a character called the “Puppet Master” who I modeled after Trump; but with more power. Now that Trump has more power than ever I wonder if my album’s warnings will become prophecy.

At its core, “African America” is the story of a people that feel lost, a people that don’t feel welcome in their place of birth. This is where Black Americans currently exist, a place where the laws and law enforcement don’t seem to serve or protect them. “African America†can be viewed as an actual plea to build a new home, or just to relocate mentally.
“African America” is the promised land of freedom.
