The Atlanta Hip Hop scene is a very diverse one. Â There are a number of different artists that range from Boom Bap, Trap, Rock, House etc. Â Adding to this diverse scene is Rogue Dynamo who has released her new Karma and Roses EP which is an eight track sonic adventure. Â She not only gets busy behind the mic she also helps with the production of this new project.
“Roses and Karma”, the newly released EP from ATL’s own Rogue Dynamo is all about maintaining balance in a world full of constant changes and evolving challenges.The album serves as a Karmatic journey with Hip Hop’s very own anti-heroine navigating the voyage. Love, betrayal, relationships, and the hunger to obtain greatness despite the odds, fuel the eight-track-odyssey known as Roses and Karma.Led by the hit indie single “On My Own”, and including production from Rogue and a talented group of others, the album showcases another facet of Atlanta-based Hip Hop.

Quite often in Hip Hop old school purists will complain about technology.  The fact is technology has its pros and cons but regardless it’s here to stay and only moving faster with time.  So check this out MAZZI & S.O.U.L (Sense Of Understanding Life’s) Purpose composed an EP where MAZZI rhymes over beats made with samples all found online.  Clever Concept this is also a project of substance with a portion of of proceeds from all S.O.U.L. Purpose albums go to charity, and Mazzi regularly travels to Palestine and Israel for humanitarian work, bringing medical supplies and conducting workshops, talent shows and live performances for youth in refugee camps.
Oh and if you are wondering about his resume if you might not ever heard of MAZZI?  Well he has only shared stages with Eminem, Big Pun, G-Unit, Ghostface, M.O.P., Slick Rick, Erykah Badu and many more.  So good music that helps a good cause sounds like a good thing all the way around!

Jazzy bluesy bap joint “Requiem” is from the forthcoming Mello Music Group compilation album “Persona” (due out March 10, 2015; but you can hit the pre-order link below). Of course, Oddisee is on the beat (double duty). Here’s more.

Technology: Printed Midi DJ Decks for DJ QBert’s Album (Video)

Technology? Nah, this is too crazy for that. How about incredi-tech? Amaza-tronics? Hell, something! This is Novalia’s and DJ Qbert’s interactive DJ Decks… in an album cover… the first in the world. Why are you still sitting???
QBert’s Kickstarter-funded “Extraterrestria” album features a set of working Bluetooth MIDI decks and controls that connect to iOs and OSx. Touching the paper connects to the Algoriddim DJAY app, allowing the user to scratch, mix and fade any songs they load into the software.
Complete with two decks, a cross fader and an array of SFX buttons beautifully printed onto paper using printed electronics and artwork designed by Morning Breath for QBert, the decks demonstrate the possibilities for interconnectivity between the physical and digital in a way that can enhance user experience.
Don’t believe us just watch. Yeah, mind blown so bad… paraphrasing Trinidad James over here. SICK tech!!
