R&B: Robin Thicke – “Give It 2 U” feat. 2 Chainz x Kendrick Lamar (Video)
Robin Thicke having more fun on the set. This “Give It 2 U” video is on the same vein as that “Blurred Lines” video (which we posted on here) – lotta a sexy (shout out to the Alabama State University Dancing ‘Stingettes’ featured in the video) mixed with a liberal amount of Hip-Hop. 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar rode along on this party track. Respect to director Diane Martel for another great vid: first, “Blurred Lines” and now this one!
Asante – “Prototype” (SanteJazz Remix) [Prod. By Atu]
Asante blowing over an airy refix of Andre 3000’s “Prototype†done up by producer Atu. The track will be on Asante’s forthcoming release “Trilogy: The SanteJazz Trifecta Remix Series.” Is that beatboxing on the track, too? Gotta listen.
Vinyl Destination | Ep. 17: Globetrotting From Capetown To Canada With DJ Jazzy Jeff (Video)
For Episode 17, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Skillz finish strong in South Africa. Capetown… promo, press, radio, demo show at a school… all to work up interest and ensure high attendance for the party. And what a party!
‘Our job is, pretty much, is to go around the world and make people have a good time.’
And after a job well done in South Africa, the fellas hop that ocean to get a week’s rest… then back at it! Cross country, east to west coast, Canadian tour… but in a NICE tour bus. More ‘chill time’ on this tour, but even down time on the bus is time for Jeff to work on beats in his rolling suite! Everybody can’t do this, but thanks to Vinyl Destination, everybody can ride along.

Raheem DeVaughn – “Ridiculous” (Video)
We posted the audio for this slow jam perfection by Raheem DeVaughn a while ago. This is the video for “Ridiculous†off the LP “A Place Called Love Land†(due out September 3, 2013).
Lorde – “Royals” (Weeknd Remix)
The first time I heard this song I played it back like a hundred times. This joint is gangsta! This is joint is extremely dope to me musically & lyrically. The Weeknd has a mix of New Zealand songstress Lorde’s track “Royals” with the shots and eagle screeches in there over a nice beat. Don’t know where the original mixing ends and The Weeknd’s remixing begins, but who cares. Press play and rock with this.
Toni Braxton Gives an ‘Assed Out’ Performance Following Her Major Wardrobe Malfunction (Video)
Pop quiz: Toni Braxton comes out for a performance in a super sexy slinky number looking extra hot… giving an extra hot performance… then you see a flash of that azz. Wow! Then, you see it again and again… What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO???
Mannnn, you enjoy the show!
Now, wardrobe malfunction aside, it was a great show. You see that the New Jersey faithful got an eyeful of Toni from every beautiful side (whew) right from the start of this clip… but later, you see a gentleman fan offering his nice jacket to cover Toni’s way better than ‘nice’ posterior (after stage staff tried a ‘quick fix’). Just watch the whole thing…
R&B: Estelle – “Be In Love” feat. Jeremih
As a fan of reggae/dancehall & dub music I can really appreciate when good singers get together over this type of island breezy production. British singer Estelle enlists fellow R&B singer Jeremih to get down with her on this “Be In Love” track from her upcoming “Love & Happiness: Vol. 2 Waiting To Exhale” EP that will be released on her own label imprint New London Records. I’m feeling the latest push by a number of true R&B/Soul singers taking chances with more island style production in their music.
R&B/Soul: The-Dream – “Too Early” feat. Gary Clark, Jr. (Video)
R&B/Soul: Sunni Colòn – “Templeâ€
You’re going to want to chime in with “Your Body Is A Wonderland” (by John Mayer) right at the start of this “Temple” joint by Sunni Colòn. But don’t do it. Respect this groove! Easy Sunday slow listening courtesy of the talented, versatile L.A. emcee/singer/songwriter. Enjoy this as you ride out…
“…windows down, no A/C in the whip.”

R&B: August Alsina – “Let Me Hit That” feat. Currensy [Video]
We posted this dope R&B record from August Alsina – “Let Me Hit That” featuring Currensy (produced by Cassius Jay) – a while back. This musical metaphor for the ‘Mary Jane’ is a Jayforce personal favorite & will appear on August’s forthcoming “Downtown: Life Under the Gun” (EP) due out on iTunes August 20, 2013. Visual presentation directed by Reece Bros.
R&B: Jeremih – “Love Hangover” (Prod. By Pop x Oak)
Jeremih dropped this jawn “Love Hangover” (produced by Pop & Oak). His “Thumpy Johnson” LP is on the way… supposedly. The project’s “machine” has sputtered so far; but there’s still time left in the year. And evidenced by this track, there is still much good music to be heard from J.
Bone Crusher – “Vibration” feat. Raheem Devaughn
Remember when Bone Crusher flow style was like the Dirty South’s loud bull rumbling through a China shop? Well… this is less ‘rumble’ more “Vibration.” Smoothed out joint featuring Raheem Devaughn takes it in another direction. One that may take a couple of listens to get used to. Vibe is nice though.
Vinyl Destination | Ep. 16: ‘Bout That Life… Wild Life in Africa With The Magnificent DJ Jazzy Jeff (Video)
For Episode 16, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Skillz and the crew go on safari in Africa. But that’s not the only place they experience the ‘wild life’ in this episode. Another great time tripping with Jazzy Jeff. Watch.

R&B: John Legend – “Made to Love” (Video)
Daniel Sannwald directs an eclectic sensual visual adaptation of John Legend’s single “Made to Love” (out now on iTunes). This will appear on Legend’s new album “Love In The Future” (due out September 3, 2013).

R&B/Soul: Sola Rosa – “Promise” ft. Olivier Daysoul (Tall Black Guy Remix)
Tall Black Guy remixes “Promise” from Sola Rosa’s forthcoming album, “Low and Behold, High and Beyond.” Another silky smooth remix recommendation magically delivered to my inbox courtesy BamaLoveSoul. Love the A-State staple for good music for putting us on to good work like this.

Terrace Martin – “No Wrong, No Right†feat. Robert Glasper x James Fauntleroy
Here’s a single from Terrace Martin’s forthcoming LP “3ChordFold” (due out August 13, 2013). “No Wrong, No Right” (featuring Robert Glasper and James Faunleroy) expresses how ‘sometimes in relationships, no one wants admit when they are wrong….and men have a hard time admitting when they are right, for fear of the backlash.’ In advance of the LP’s release, this single is on iTunes today.

R&B Legend Ron Isley Performs “It’s Your Thing†With ‘The Roots’ On ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ (Video)
The Roots (aka The World’s Greatest Band) backs one of R&B’s greatest performers (Ron Isley) for “It’s Your Thing.” The Late Night With Jimmy Fallon crowd gets rocked with a live rendition of an Isley Brothers classic!
Vinyl Destination | Ep. 15: From Europe To South Africa With The Magnificent DJ Jazzy Jeff (Video)
In episode 15 of Vinyl Destination, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Skillz take us through Switzerland and London … then off to Cape Town (South Africa). Starting with spider bites on the lip? Breakfast for 97 bucks? Damn… and damn! And according to Jeff, this trip still wasn’t as scary as his other South African show with Will Smith back in the day. At least nothing crawled up his leg during these sets. Break beats, break dancers, watching record-breaking super-sonic skydiving (like we did on here), building with DJ Premier.
