“Point Blank” Debuts On Netflix On July 12th (Trailer)

Ohhh yooooo!!! That’s Anthony ‘Falcon’ Mackie and Frank ‘Rumlow’ Grillo from the MCU. Remember when these guys were enemies in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier?” Well, in this flick, let’s call them “frenemies”…

When his pregnant wife is kidnapped and held as collateral, Paul, an ER nurse, must team with the badly injured career criminal and murder suspect under his charge in order to save the lives of his wife and unborn child. Pitted against rival gangs and a deadly ring of corrupt cops, the unlikely duo find a way to survive together in the fight of their lives. A gritty, action-packed thriller starring Anthony Mackie and Frank Grillo only on Netflix July 12, 2019.

Wonder if they will ‘recycle’ any lines from “Winter Soldier”… like, “Shut the hell up”… and fight!

“The Hate U Give” Shows How Hard It Is To Do Right When It All Goes Wrong (Trailer)

Halfway through watching this, you might have your mind made up as to whether or not Starr (with two r’s) should speak up… but keep watching. You KNOW it is not that cut-and-dry, and this trailer bears that out. Looks like a good flick to catch. In Theaters October 19, 2018.

Starr Carter is constantly switching between two worlds: the poor, mostly Black, neighborhood where she lives and the rich, mostly white, prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Now, facing pressures from all sides of the community, Starr must find her voice and stand up for what’s right. THE HATE U GIVE is based on the critically acclaimed New York Times bestseller by Angie Thomas and stars Amandla Stenberg as Starr, with Regina Hall, Russell Hornsby, Issa Rae, KJ Apa, Algee Smith, Sabrina Carpenter, Common and Anthony Mackie.

Detroit (Trailer)

That’s John Boyega, dude from ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens.’ No light sabers in this one, but no less compelling a story… Plus, it’s real.

From the Academy Award winning director of THE HURT LOCKER and ZERO DARK THIRTY, DETROIT tells the gripping story of one of the darkest moments during the civil unrest that rocked Detroit in the summer of ‘67.

Check out the trailer for “Detroit” (in theaters August 4th).

Okay, Cap and Falcon found Bucky… not The Winter Soldier… good ol’ Bucky! So, all’s well and we can hug and go home right? Aw hell naw. All HELL is about to break loose! Check out the trailer above. And do not make ANY other plans for May 6, 2016.

Triple 9 (UK Trailer)

We posted the Red Band trailer for “Triple 9” a while back. Now as the February 19, 2015, theatrical release date approaches, we get the UK trailer for the film. Watch that above.

When a crew of dirty cops is blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist, they realise the only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for “officer down”. The chaos that ensues when a police officer is shot in the line of duty is just the diversion they’ll need to do the job, but whether they have the will to kill one of their own is an entirely different matter. Their plan is turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie they set up to die foils the attack, triggering a breakneck, action packed finale tangled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.

Triple 9 (Redband Trailer) [NSFW]

The ‘redband trailer’ part pretty much means this clip is NSFW (Not Safe For Work). But since there is bloodshed AND nudity, perhaps an extra warning label is warranted. Scheming, betrayal, organized crime (international even), overt sexuality, explosions, and adrenaline rush car chases and action sequences. Check, check and all boxes check. Still, there seems to be an intriguing story.

See… corrupt cops get pulled into doing organized crime by a Russian mobster. A core element of their seedy plans was to be the killing of a rookie cop; you know, to throw good cops off their trail. And that’s where the story really gets started.

Due out February 2016. Now we know there will be more than DC Comics movies to watch in theaters next year.

(By the way, ‘9-9-9’ is the code for “officer down.” Now the “Triple 9” title of the movie makes sense.)

The Shadow League Gets Some Screen Time with Anthony Mackie Discussing His Role as ‘The Falcon’ In “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” (Video)

The second, action-packed installment of the Captain America series, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” stars Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Robert Redford (Alexander Pierce). In this exclusive video interview with The Shadow League, Anthony Mackie (playing Marvel’s first Black superhero, Falcon) discusses working with Jackson, Redford, and the tireless work and payoff that will come in simply seeing little boys dressed as Falcon for Halloween.

Updating the original comic book storyline of Falcon’s Harlem hustler roots, in this screen version Mackie is a standout DC soldier. Thirsty and hungry for something new, he finds himself pulled into Captain America’s cavalry while on the run from the super assassin, Winter Soldier.

Marvel Presents ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ (Film Trailers)

Based on these recent trailers, I believe ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ will be better than the 2011 debut ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ film from Marvel.  In this sequel due April 4th, respected actor Anthony Mackie appears to be an excellent choice to play the role of Captain America’s friend & Marvel superhero… ‘The Falcon.’ Check the storyline below as well as another new trailer after the jump…

“After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.” – Marvel

Actor Anthony Mackie Speaks With Tavis Smiley On Black Film Industry Being Lazy (Video)

I agree with Anthony Mackie wholeheartedly. Why do African-American filmmakers, producers & other people in the industry keep begging the film industry for acceptance. It’s the same problem in the music industry where everyone doesn’t want to support quality work, but the focus on is solely on getting paid. Marcus Garvey said it best that we have to do for self.
