Nia Long Speaks On That ‘Cherry Thong’ Line And Her New Movie (Video)

Listen. I got kids to put through college. I will sell some cherry thongs!

Hey, hey, Sway! Back up, son. I got the answers for Nia, not you (haha)!

O…M…G! I will buy a woman some Nia Long thongs on sight!! That idea is epic. And the visual I got going in my mind right now… ooooh weee!!

Nia Long is starring in a new movie called The Banker alongside Anthony Mackie and Samuel L. Jackson coming out in March 2020. The film is about two Black men who started a company, but hired a White man to act as if he was the owner as they posed as the janitor and chauffeur as they ran the business back in the 1950’s. Nia Long stopped by Sway In The Morning to talk about her role in the film.

Roxanne Shanté Biopic Debuts March 23rd On Netflix (Trailer)

A Roxanne Shanté biopic, with Nia Long in there. Two good reasons to get that Netflix hookup popping ASAP if not sooner! Interesting pick for next Hip-Hop movie story. Would not have predicted it, but looking forward to it. Also starring Chanté Adams and Mahershala Ali. Check out the trailer.

In the early 1980s, the most feared battle MC in Queens, New York, was a fierce teenage girl with the weight of the world on her shoulders. At the age of 14, Lolita “Roxanne Shante” Gooden was well on her way to becoming a Hip-Hop legend as she hustled to provide for her family while defending herself from the dangers of the streets.
– Netflix

The real Roxanne Shanté is actually an executive producer. And Forest Whittaker is attached. Very interesting!

Nia Long Just Gave Kendrick Lamar The Permission (Video)

See? Nia had no shade for K.Dot. She just did not recognize the new Compton Don… yet. But see, now that she does, she gave him PERMISSION to use her name in that next dope rhyme.

Savage Savvy!

But let’s keep rewinding at the end where lovely Ms. Long stressed that that gold-beaded dress was on a mission: To ‘hold it in and push it OUT!’ Mercy!

(So… that’s why that red carpet clip is after the jump. Yes and more yes yes, indeed!)

Nia Long Speaks On Her Cherry Thong, Why Rappers Keep Putting Her In Songs And More (Video)

Definitely NOT ‘Becky With The Good Hair’… but Nia Long (so f#cking sexy!) stays up in rappers’ rhymes (like J. Cole’s… she keeps toying with that young man… ha!). Here she is, on with Jimmy Kimmel, speaking on her sustained popularity within emcees’ rhyme schemes.

Nia talks about a few of the various times she’s been mentioned in rap lyrics and explains how a Nas song led her to purchase a cherry thong.

Hold on. Point of order, Jimmy. It was HORSE with Bravehearts (Nas’ crew) that put that ‘cherry thong’ on Nia in his “Oochie Wally” rhyme. Sweet mercy!

Comedy: Mike Epps Stars In ABC’s “Uncle Buck” Series (Trailer)

Heard some folks are upset about this redo of “Uncle Buck.” C’mon… stop. John Candy (star of the movie version) was hilarious. Mike Epps IS hilarious. LAUGH at entertaining situation comedy. It is what both would want. That said, rest in peace, John… and Mike, you better bring it!

Based on the hit movie of the same name, Uncle Buck (Mike Epps) is a fun loving but irresponsible guy who needs a job and a place to stay. By happy coincidence, his nieces and nephew’s Nanny has just quit and his brother and sister-in-law need his help. His unconventional personality just may make him the right fit for the family and they may be the answer to his problems, too.

Coming to ABC this Fall.

MOOZ-lum Theatrical Trailer

Looking forward to seeing this film in the near future especially considering the social & political mirrors taking place. Here’s more about the film:

“Pulled between his strict Muslim upbringing by his father and the normal social life he’s never had, Tariq Mahdi (Evan Ross) enters college in a state of confusion. New relationships with Muslims and non-Muslims alike challenge his already shaken ideals, and the estrangement with his mother and sister troubles him. With the help of new friends, family and mentors, he begins to find himself and open up to an Islam he hasn’t been exposed to. But when the attacks of 9/11 happen without warning, he is forced to face his past and make the biggest decisions of his life.

Written and directed by Qasim Basir, Mooz-lum is one of the first-ever American feature films depicting the life of a young Muslim-American. The all-star cast includes: Danny Glover (Dreamgirls, The Color Purple), Nia Long (Are We There Yet, Love Jones), Roger Guenveur Smith (American Gangster, Do The Right Thing), Summer Bishil (The Last Airbender, Towelhead) and Evan Ross (ATL, Pride). ”

I’m looking forward to catching this film when it debuts in select theaters. Hopefully Atlanta will be one of the chosen cities when it’s released February 11th. You can still cast your vote for the film to be screened in your city today by making sure you go to: http://www.eventful.com/moozlum
