M-Dot – “Days Are All the Same” (Prod. By Hi-Tek) [Video]

I got the message. And it wasn’t even ‘texted’ to me. Folks, maybe (read: DEFINITELY) we should put down the phones and raise our heads AND levels of consciousness (and conscientiousness). Get ‘into’ the world instead of phone-caming and sharing about it. Live… instead of ‘going live’ all the time. It is a new decade after all, right? Hear the words and watch the vid from M-Dot.

The coveting of societal acceptance has reached new heights in a social media (“like” based) dominated planet. You find more people looking down (at their phones) then looking up to see what’s happening with our culture nowadays; increasingly becoming robots to a system dangling products to the wide eyed eager consumer. M-Dot‘s latest single ‘Days Are All The Same‘ paints a lucid world of these exact human shortcomings. The social/political narrative is carefully laced upon the back-drop of Hi-Tek‘s (Snoop Dogg, Big L, Eminem, 50 Cent, GhostFace Killah) eccentric drum arrangement. Ego And The Enemy 2 Coming Soon!!

Rhythm Roulette With Hi-Tek (Video)

Uh oh. Hi-Tek picked Elvis… best case, a real beatmaking challenge (worst case, a LAW SUIT waiting to happen). But this is the game the top producers play. Hi-Tek = Top Producer. Let’s see him try to make lemonade out of these lemons he picked.

(Insert whatever Beyonce reference you like here.)

No need to explain all these artists’ connection, right? Hint (just in case): The title is more than a reference to the old school musical group. Erykah Badu x Hi-Tek – “Honey” (Duncan Gerow Blend)

BamaLoveSoul gave much love and propers to Alaska-based producer, Duncan Gerow, for his latest Erykah Badu / Hi-Tek blend. We give respect to BamaLoveSoul for sharing the wealth and bringing this jewel of a joint to our attention. FREE download below!

Gerow skillfully places Badu’s vocals over one of my favorite Hi-Tek produced beats. It quickly reminded me that Erykah actually did do an official remix to Reflection Eternal‘s lead single “The Blast” but I always felt like I got robbed a little bit cause all she was relegated to were hook duties. So to hear this blend gives my imagination free license to wander/wonder a bit as to what she could have done on this track with a little more leash and leg room.

Dave Chapelle on MPC with Hi-Tek? (Video)

This video surfaced of whats supposed to be Dave Chapelle the comedian in the studio with Hi-Tek and Talib Kweli messing around on the MPC. The video is blurry and dark but I’ll take the internet’s word for it.

The Game feat. Dion – Runnin’ (Original Version)

This Tony Yayo-free version of Runnin’ surfaced yesterday. Not a huge fan of The Game but The Documentary was a dope album and this was by far my favorite track from it. Tony Yayo wasn’t needed on this track but you can see the G-Unit influence and label politics turning a perfectly good song into a rappiddy rap track, but I digress. This version features 2 verses from Dion. Enjoy!
