Rising hip hop artist Joey Badass is creeping up on the world’s radar more & more everyday. A special guest appearance by like minded West Coast lyricist Ab-Soul happens in the clip as well. Great night in ‘New Yawk City’…

Pharoahe Monch x Jean Grae Perform In South Africa (Video)

While still touring & still supporting his dope “W.A.R. (We Are Renegades)” album, Pharoahe Monch alongside the equally as dope lyricist Jean Grae made a tour stop in South Africa for the Capetown International Jazz Festival. In the video above they speak on their first time visiting South Africa to perform, Pharoahe’s decision to shoot a video for his next single “Haile Selassie Karate” while in SA, & more. Watching the video has me anxious to get back to South Africa. I can’t wait to go back & visit again….

The Goodie Mob Perform Their New Single ‘Fight To Win’ On NBC’s ‘The Voice’ (Video)

The Goodie Mob performed on national television last night debuting their new single “Fight To Win” on NBC’s ‘The Voice’ where Cee-Lo is the host.  This particular song is very “Cee-Lo heavy” with the singing, but I guess it’s appropriate for the platform they were on last night.

Curren$y’s song “Michael Knight” is one of my favorite joints from him & it’s evident that I’m not the only one so the New Orleans born spitta rocked it down at the SXSW festival in Austin Texas. Big shoutout to the homie DJ E.F. Cuttin who’s also in the video spinning for the Nawlins bwoy….”Studududududududududududdu…”

SXSW: Jay Z AMEX Sync Show (Video)

I wasn’t impressed with Jay-Z’s performance but neither was I surprised at the rather lukewarm response from the audience. Jay-Z forgot the lyrics to two of his songs in this video & the audience evidently is not that familiar with his catalog. As a guy who’s traveled the world I’ve been saying for a while that Jay-Z is not as popular a rap artist by himself around the world as a performing artist compared to someone like Kanye, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, or Eminem. Here in the states some fans will argue with you, but apparently the same thing can be seen here too at SXSW amongst the so-called fans that aren’t strongly “urban”. (Shrugs) Nice hat.

Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) & Talib Kweli Rock Paris As ‘Black Star’ (Video)

The energy that the crowd had for Black Star was great….at least quality hip hop still thrives in Europe. More video from the show under the hood…

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards Live Performances (Video)

I was too busy drinking & stuffing my face with popcorn while watching the Miami Heat annihilate the Atlanta Hawks to watch the Grammys. I tuned in rather late, but Mr. World Premier himself Yardie always come through with the performance videos from Chris Brown, Alicia Keys, Coldplay, Rihanna, & more so I knew I could count on them being there for me when I got home late. Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show (Video)

Madonna was the headliner during this visually spectacular halftime show during Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, but she brought several friends along like Nicki Minaj, LMFAO, Cee-Lo & more but it was M.I.A. who everyone was talking about afterwards after she flipped the “F*ck You” finger into the cameras before the censors at NBC could catch it.

D’Angelo Performs First Live Show in 11 Years (Video)

The soulful voice behind classic albums Brown Sugar and Voodoo seems to be finally back after an 11 year hiatus. Even though D’Angelo’s absence had much more to do with personal troubles than lack of musical inspiration,it looks like the good brother is back on the right track. He was spotted at Filadelfiakyrkan in Stockholm, Sweden performing new joints along with classic joints like “Chicken Grease” and “Shit, Damn, Motherfucker” to a lively crowd, with the energy and passion that we grown accustomed to from D’Angelo. I also see the homie Kendra Foster doing her thing signing background!! No word on an album just yet, but things are looking up. We need you D!!!

Common Freestyling at Vanquish Nightclub in Atlanta (Video)

Shout out to the homie Wilt for putting us on the guestlist for this event that took place tonight at the new Vanquish nightclub on Peachtree street here in Atlanta. . Common’s new album “The Dreamer, The Believer” is definitely one of the best, if not the best hip hop album, to drop recently but that’s not stopping the Chicago emcee from making his rounds in Atlanta to ‘keep pushing’ like Curtis Mayfield. Check out this special freestyle Common spit following a question & answer session at this invite only event that took place tonight…..
