Big Daddy Kane Live At The V1 Festival In Russia (Video)

BIG DADDY KANE!!! In Saint-Petersburg… Florida, right? Nah, son…Russia! This V1 Festival thing looks DOPE, perhaps “the best Hip-Hop event in Russia” for reals!!

The name Big Daddy Kane has become synonymous with the term “poet” in the world of Hip-Hop. Aside from introducing original lyrics to this genre, he also gave innovative live performances which included theatre art, choreography and special costumes. It all has proved that Big Daddy Kane is not only an MC but a full-on music hall artist.

Yep. A BDK show is ALWAYS a good ticket to cop. The G.O.D.M.C. always gives his all for the fans, leaving it all on the floor to righteously represent Hip-Hop… and it don’t stop!

Tarica June – “But Anyway” (Live Performance) [Video]

Hmmm… I remember coming across Tarica years ago. Really taking the underground route to success on her own terms. Looks like she is still on that railroad, and we get to look at some tracks she is riding… live!

Here’s a special acoustic performance filmed at one of my favorite places: Nubian Hueman! … Of course one of the songs I did was But Anyway (with a new verse!!) so that’s the one I’m sharing first. Special thanks to Tyler Moonlight on keys and thanks to Anika Hobbs of Nubian Hueman for having me!

The Goodie Mob Perform Their New Single ‘Fight To Win’ On NBC’s ‘The Voice’ (Video)

The Goodie Mob performed on national television last night debuting their new single “Fight To Win” on NBC’s ‘The Voice’ where Cee-Lo is the host.  This particular song is very “Cee-Lo heavy” with the singing, but I guess it’s appropriate for the platform they were on last night.

SXSW: Jay Z AMEX Sync Show (Video)

I wasn’t impressed with Jay-Z’s performance but neither was I surprised at the rather lukewarm response from the audience. Jay-Z forgot the lyrics to two of his songs in this video & the audience evidently is not that familiar with his catalog. As a guy who’s traveled the world I’ve been saying for a while that Jay-Z is not as popular a rap artist by himself around the world as a performing artist compared to someone like Kanye, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, or Eminem. Here in the states some fans will argue with you, but apparently the same thing can be seen here too at SXSW amongst the so-called fans that aren’t strongly “urban”. (Shrugs) Nice hat.

Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) & Talib Kweli Rock Paris As ‘Black Star’ (Video)

The energy that the crowd had for Black Star was great….at least quality hip hop still thrives in Europe. More video from the show under the hood…
