Destroying Bigotry One Clapback At A Time (Video)

Dammit.

And even worse than the reality of bigotry (you do KNOW it’s real, right?) is the realization that, in truth, there is NOTHING we can do to keep an armed police force – trained and given license to kill by the government whenever they deem it necessary – from TAKING OUR LIVES!

And that’s how the clip f*cking starts! Not trying to make you mad. Trying to ‘woke’ you up with this Anthony McPherson rant!

Pre-Recorded Message From Baton Rouge Police Shooter Gavin Long (Video)

Folks who rail against the #BlackLivesMatter movement have tried to tie it to Baton Rouge police shooter Gavin Long (aka Cosmo Setepenra). But… big BUT… watch the video above. Long declared that the protests and words were NOT enough for him. The #BlackLivesMatter movement is a NONVIOLENT one. Do NOT let others rewrite the narrative. Agree or disagree with what he is saying, or what he did (and died doing), everyone MUST realize that his actions were NOT in keeping with anything #BlackLivesMatter has done or stood for.

Fearmongers might have you (or the police who will be present) believe differently. That’s DANGEROUS. They may well be inclined to spread propaganda that puts future demonstrators in danger. True, demonstrators may ‘break the law’… Drs. King, Abernathy, Lowery, Lafayette and others certainly broke the law of the land back in the day. The laws were unjust. They were CIVIL in their disobedience of the law. And, yet, they were beaten. Some who would stand with them lost their lives! Being civil, but still abused or worse.

So don’t think for one moment that folks seeing this Long video, recorded days before his shootout with police, won’t make a ‘leap’ and treat #BlackLivesMatter demonstrators like ‘terrorists’ (like they are already saying). Be careful. These are dangerous times for everyone.

(Goes without saying, but must be said: See what happens when folks are pushed too far? Bill Maher already alluded that he expected sh!t to hit the fan like in Baton Rouge and Dallas MUCH earlier.)

Bill Maher Says That Police Culture Has To Change (Video)

Above: Bill Maher tells Stephen Colbert that we need policing as a society. He values the police and denounces shooting of police, like most, BUT he understands why police got shot at this point.

You can only look at so many videos of shooting unarmed Black people. I’m surprised it didn’t happen before.

Wow. Then¬†Colbert follows up with a quote from the late President John F. Kennedy: “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable.” Then Maher goes in further: Police culture – attracting the wrong types of people, protecting wrongdoers within their ranks, not administering true justice when wrongdoers are caught, even the training – HAS to change!

Yeah. By this point in the evening, the funny part of the show was over, as Maher declared.

(Well, actually, they got in some more joke pokes… some at each other… but, trust, the serious power of what was said was not diminished.)

Incredible conversation The Late Show. Colbert keeps bringing thoughtful TV to CBS; while allowing what needs to be said to be said. Watch.

Comedy Central’s Larry Wilmore On The Shooting Of Walter Scott ‘For The Record’ (Video)

The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore slid right into The Colbert Report’s 11:30 PM Comedy Central slot. And doing so like a boss! Great tongue-in-cheek political satire. Gotta say though, Larry is starting with a lot more bite. Watch his do-you-see-this-sh!t commentary on cellphone video showing a South Carolina police officer (Michael Slager) fatally shooting an unarmed black man (Walter Scott) in the back.

“I’ll stop talking about this sh!t when it stops happening.”
Larry Wilmore

Damn right. Damn shame. Damn.
