Sean Boog – “A Love Never Dies” feat. Rapsody & Khrysis

North Carolina producer & emcee Sean Boog releases the first single to his upcoming project ‘Sean Boogie Nights’ dropping July 10th. Representing 1/2 of the group The Away Team, he grabs his rhyme & producing partner Khrysis to spit over this “A Love Never Dies” track produced by 9th Wonder & adds a female voice to it with Rapsody. I can always tell when something is dope if I rewind it back a few times & this was one of those types of songs….

R&B/Alternative: Teresajenee – “Electric Yellow”

Emerging indie sensation Teresajenee (a.k.a. the “musician beatmaker pen”) actually started making music in earnest in 2007. However, her life in music can be traced (read: predestined) from the crib! Born to music artist parents in St. Louis, Missouri, the Tennessee State University alum has featured on others’ projects, as well as her own, and on stages across the United States, since getting her start a few years ago. Her stated mission is to put out “music that is soulful, introspective, and refreshing,” and she has what it takes to do just that. Teresajenee’s upbringing in a music-rich family environment, her mastery of several instruments (piano, organ, clarinet, and drums), her vocal range, and her demonstrated determination to stay the course of a true artist (not compromising the music for the money) has set on a path to stardom…perhaps legendary status! Let’s keep a look out for Teresajenee. But for now, listen to her cut, “Electric Yellow.”

Alternative: Little Dragon – “Sunshine”

On June 28, indie alternative electro-pop band Little Dragon released a new single, “Sunshine,” in conjunction with Absolut Vodka, for Absolut Remix (the company’s alcoholic punch drink). Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, veteran Swedish-Japanese singer Yukimi Nagano is the lead vocalist for Little Dragon, which also features keyboardist Hakan Wirenstrand, bassist Fredrik Kallgren Wallin, and drummer Erik Bodin. Señor Kaos – “Never Stop” (Nike Better World Mix)

On March 19, 2012 Nike Ultra Endurance Athlete Jason Lester began The Journey for a Better World in New York City (NYC). Over the next 102 days, he would run and bike 4,800 miles across the United States to Oregon to show the world how a Better World starts with sport. Mr. Lester met Señor Kaos on the Atlanta leg of the journey April 13, 2012. Inspired by Mr. Lester’s effort, Señor Kaos penned a poem entitled “Better Journey.†Upon Señor Kaos’ sharing of the poem with Mr. Lester, he challenged Señor Kaos to do a song called “Never Stop†which is his mantra. Several states later into the journey, Señor Kaos finished the theme song. Produced by NYC Producer DJ Eleven, this song is all about the drive to “do good with a vengeance.†Check out this theme and product of inspiration from Señor Kaos!

Ghostface Killah (of the Wu-Tang Clan) and Sheek Louch (of the LOX, D-Block) have hooked up to form Wu Block… and to hit us with some new heat from the streets! This is “Union Square,” a promotional release for the upcoming self-titled album “Wu Block.” Word is that the album is slated to be released mid-August 2012. We’ll see. But for now, we have this summer joint (both versions – clean and dirty).

I’m not too familiar with young upcoming emcee Joey Bada$$ but he’s been popping up on my radar more & more lately. It feels like true New York hip hop is coming back with young cats like him taking it back to the essence of what NYC & hip hop culture was truly built upon in terms of lyricism & content. This new video for “Waves” is interesting because I immediately recognized the Freddie Joachim instrumental, but its when Joey Badass lays his vocals over the original track that it’s immediately obvious that he made a quality song out of it. After watching the clip it made me go & start checking out his new “1999” mixtape from which the song appears. Dope video, Dope song, & a young hungry emcee with content making ‘waves’….
