Last night the Philadelphia 76ers retired future hall of famer Allen Iverson’s jersey number & it was a special night in the city. It was clear that A.I. embraced Philly just as much as we embraced him. Allen Iverson was a high profile athlete who repped my hometown, but he was the personification of what being from Philadelphia was all about. Tough, hardworking, blue collar, & fearless.

Meek Mill – Bike Life Philly (Video)

I have to admit I do get a rush looking at fearless motorbike videos as cats rip through my hometown of Philly. In a way it takes me back there in a nostalgic sort of way just seeing the old neighborhoods & it just reminds me of the summertime when cats would rip down the blocks. Meek Mill does have a lot going for him with Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group but he may need to ease up on riding on these bikes too often. The state of Pennsylvania doesn’t have a helmet law so you don’t have to wear one without getting cited or locked up, but young kids racing through Philly on bikes is becoming a problem because of the rise in fatal injuries. Ironically, from the above clip, Meek Mill almost became one of those statistics. Brothas are taking “L’s” everyday in Philly & Meek has great things going for him so he may need to just chill a little. Slow down Meek Milly….

Legendary Boxing Champion Joe Frazier Dies Of Liver Cancer In Philadelphia

As a North Philly native I can tell you that there was no way anyone wouldn’t be proud of the accomplishments & community service that Smokin Joe Frazier had done over the years. I remember visiting his gym a few times as a kid on North Broad street which was several blocks from my grandmothers home. Because of Joe Frazier’s success & visibility in the community he inspired generations of brothers from Philly beyond boxing. I’ve been fortunate enough to have met Joe Frazier several times over the years & unlike most celebrities like him, Joe was actively involved in community & was very visible from what I remember when I still lived in Philly. While the Philadelphia Eagles were closing out their Monday Night Football game with a loss to Chicago, sports fans in Philadelphia & the world were just getting word that one of the greatest boxers in history had died of liver cancer. It goes without saying that it was truly a sad evening in Philadelphia last night…. Rest in Peace Smokin’ Joe Frazier.

Rick Ross Spending More Than Time In Philadelphia (Video)

After shooting the video for “I’mma Boss” with Meek Mill in North Philly, Rick Ross takes some time to make the rounds in Philly including spending some cash on some sports jerseys. Freeway, Emilio Rojas, & others appear in this particular video. What I really want to know is what is the name of the song playing at the beginning of the video from Meek Mill?! I’m diggin’ that Meek Mill song that plays in the beginning of the the video…I need that joint before the summer is over

I need a no DJ version of that “Middle Of Da Summer” joint produced by Tone Beats….it’s a banger!
