Cocaine 80s – “Queen To Be”

Producer NO I.D.’s super group Cocaine 80s releases a brand new joint called “Queen To Be” that gives hints of a possible future Cocaine 80s project is on the way. The previous free releases like their debut EP last July called “The Pursuit” & last October’s “Ghost Lady” EP were usually dropped without much notice via their tumbler page but to much critical acclaim from many people in the know. This new single “Queen To Be” finds bandmember, singer, & songwriter James Fauntleroy holding up the lead vocals on this gem….

I’m lovin’ this new track featuring North Carolina songstress Carlitta Durand called “Keep Lovin'” that will appear on Freddie Joachim’s new project “Fiberglass Kisses” dropping later this month. There’s also a cool remix to this joint produced by Eric Lau that just hit on itunes as well. Based off of this dope single & the soulful Eric Lau remix I heard I know I’ll be in line for when the album drops.

R&B: Quincy – “Stay Awhile” feat. Kendre (Video)

While finishing up two of my R&B mixtapes I’ve been working on I ran across this song that I had on repeat several times because it sounded that good. I was surprised to find out that this new artist Quincy is in fact the biological son of Al B. Sure & his mother is former model Kim Porter. Quincy credited Sean “Diddy” Combs as being his real father figure in previous interviews, but it appears he’s off to a very good start in making some quality music. I’m pleasantly surprised that this song is that dope especially considering I didn’t even know who the artist was until after the fact. Overall the song has a timeless R&B feel musically that anyone of any age could appreciate. Now that’s quality… @Quincy

The UK collective known as July 5th consists of producer VersA Beatz & singer/songwriter Dukus who joined forces for this quality sounding “Breakfast In Paris” project. The duo describe their sound as “Pharrell meets Coldplay” as the music does follow a sort of R&B/Alternative vibe similar to the lane artists like Frank Ocean & The Weeknd have been running with. This 10-song free album/EP does have a slight difference in that their UK background presents another chilled out dynamic that makes this joint all the more impressive. R&B/Soul: Corey ‘Latif’ Williams – “Philadelphia Healing” EP

While searching around the web as I usually do I ran across this soulfully dope “Philadelphia Healing” EP from Philadelphia singer & songwriter Corey “Latif” Williams. Assuming he was a newcomer to the game initially, I was pleasantly surprised to find some great gems on this new project. Upon further research I discovered the Philly artist was mentored by the late great Teddy Pendergrass & was once signed to Motown records by Kedar Massenberg under the stage name “Latif”. Instantly I had one of those “Ohhhhhhh now I remember” moments as I began to put it all together in my head. Check out his website at Hurltheworld.com. It’s great to see another artist continuing to make me proud to be from Philadelphia. If you like good soul I’m positive you won’t be disappointed…
