Food: Trigg Brown Offers This Taiwanese-American Spin On The Fried Chicken Sandwich (Video)

If it’s not bubbling, then… you f**ked up.

Ha! Got it. And I wanna get this. Because this looks DELICIOUS!!

Man, damn a ‘chicken sandwich challenge’… the contest is OVER! And Trigg Brown of Win Son, with this video, just WON, son!

Trigg Brown of Win Son, a Taiwanese-American restaurant in Brooklyn, NY, makes a big chicken bun in the Munchies Test Kitchen. Trigg starts with breaking down a whole chicken before marinating it in a mixture of ginger, garlic, scallions, Chinese five spice powder, and shio koji. Big pieces of chicken breast and thighs are then dredged in sweet potato starch, corn starch and rice flour, fried, and dusted with more Chinese five spice powder and cayenne pepper.

The result is a very crispy and slightly spicy piece of fried chicken that’s placed on top of a sweet bolo bao, topped with an herb salad, and drizzled with fermented tofu mayo. Trigg’s take on Taiwanese big chicken buns, which are typically sold in night markers around Taiwan, is the perfect combination of sweet, spicy, and savory.

Meyhem Lauren Eating His Way Through The New City Night (Video)

Haha! Something about the narration and presentation of this. Livin that foodie life smooth like it’s a movie!

We’re eating like a local in New York City with Meyhem Lauren. The first stop is Africa Kine in Harlem for lamb chops with Meyhem’s godbrother, Chrome. Then we’re off to El Tina in Washington Heights for fried shrimp, mashed potatoes, and a breathtaking seafood stew. To end the night, Meyhem heads to The Chipper Truck in the Bronx for curry fries and the elusive “Chip Buddy,” a french fry sandwich. This is a typical evening in the life of Meyhem Lauren, and he’s here to indulge.

Hmm… not really feeling the ‘Chip Buddy.’ Reminds me of potato salad sandwiches… I have known folks to eat them, but a starch on bread… why?

Food/Travel: Exploring The Pizza Scene… In Sicily (Video)

Almost time to get some grub! Who’s craving Italian… like pizza? If you’re not, just watch this clip for a taste. You will be.

Frank is headed to the motherland, Sicily. Not only does he visit his family in the small town of Baucina, where they are celebrating Santa Fortunata, their town’s patron saint, he also explores the pizza scene in Palermo. In Sicily, it’s all about the Sfincione, the regional style of focaccia that is traditionally topped with breadcrumbs, anchovies, and a hard sheep’s milk cheese. Viva Santa Fortunanta!

The [Deep] Dish On Chicago Pizza (Video)

The Chi. Home of the deep dish pizza… inspired by Kate Upton… hahaaaa! But low-key understand the inspiration (well, not so low-key).

Chicago is not a one-note pizza city. From deep dish to tavern style thin, there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to pizza. Our host Frank Pinello has never been to Chicago but has an open pizza mind, even though he was raised on NY pizza. What makes this city so special is the people, hands down. So while we hate a lot of great pizza it was the people that really made our experience special. Whether Frank was learning about deep dish from Marc Malnati, making pizza with Rose at Vito & Nick’s or taking a dance lesson with the owner’s of Freddy’s pizza, one thing is clear in Chicago: this city has great pizza and even greater people.

Fold, Eat, Repeat: Experience New York A Slice At A Time (Video)

Nothing like a New York slice! And we got ’em (and the stories behind ’em) in this episode of The Pizza Show.

New York is the birthplace of many things, but for today’s purposes, we’re sticking to pizza. Frank starts with a quick history lesson from Scott Wiener, the owner of Scott’s Pizza Tours. Then, we hit the streets to see and taste the history for ourselves. The best thing about the city’s pizza scene is that it’s relatively young, so you can still eat slices from the ovens of the people that started it all and put New York pizza on the map.

We meet the granddaughters of the man that literally brought pizza over from Naples, and even see the ovens that he used. Then, we hit all the best slices from Greenwich Village to Soho, and finish in Brooklyn at Luigi’s Pizza, a place untouched by time.

Taking “The Pizza Show” On The Road… To Detroit (Video)

“Hey bruh, let’s get a slice” are words you have heard, or at least understand folks saying, in New York… and Chicago… and Detroit… and (record screeches, whimsical background music stops)… Wait what!!

Detroit might be known as the motor city, but it’s also the pizza city. Our host Frank Pinello heads west to try out the thick-crusted, rectangular pies unique to the city. We start our tour with the classics—Buddy’s, Cloverleaf, and Loui’s—before heading to some of Detroit’s newer spots like Amar Pizza and Suppino Pizzeria. And it wouldn’t be a trip to Detroit without a visit to one of the most infamous pizza names to come out of the Mitten State—Little Caesars. Motown is definitely the dough town.

Watch Action Bronson Make the World’s Best Sandwich (Video)

Though he’s high out of his mind, fresh out the studio, Bronson is not touting this as a ‘stoner sandwich’… slathered with a lot of that classic f#cking ‘old Chevy oil sludge’ sauce (joking, but so is Bronson through most of this)!

Action Bronson stopped by the MUNCHIES Test Kitchen to show us how to make his version of a simple butcher’s sandwich. While a regular butcher’s sandwich usually consists of some meat on bread with very little garnish, this version is as over-the-top as the man showing you how to make it. First, we start with some good Italian bread, a juicy rib-eye, and some olive oil. The second realm of this beast consists of ricotta salata and Calabrian chiles, and as if that weren’t enough, a smear of grape must from the 1989 vintage of Paolo Bea Winery’s top red wine. Enjoy!

Best part, beyond the sammich itself, is Bronson busting that ricotta salata nut. Bwaaahahaaa!

Prodigy Shares And Shows How He Cooks BBQ Salmon (Video)

Verrrry interesting. A recipe demo for the Commissary Kitchen: My Infamous Prison Cookbook that Prodigy is pushing. While marketing execs might call this Merch 101, don’t you still want to try this fish? Plus: Knowledge dropped about his sickle cell disease, and how he adapted his diet while locked up (talked about that situation, too) to help him stay healthy.

First things first: You always wash your hands first!

Action Bronson With Food and Fun From The Festival In Jamaica (Video)

Well, well, if it isn’t ol’ Bam Bam at the Nyam Jam Festival in Jamaica. And what’s cooking chef? Whatever it is… We’re sure to say, “F#ck, That’s Delicious!”

As Action Bronson’s presence in the “Food World” becomes more permanent, new and diverse opportunities are popping up for the self proclaimed Human Highlight Reel. This time it popped up in the most beautiful location possible, Goldeneye Resort in Oracabessa, Jamaica. The event was entitled Nyam Jam, and even before Action knew exactly what it was, he agreed to attend. As stated in the video, there was not a single bad bite of food, and if you love hot sauces and various pepper spreads, then you really couldn’t do much better. Mr. Bronson honed in on a calabasa slaw prepared by visiting Puerto Rican chef, Jose Enrique and a smoked chicken sandwich from Jamaican grill master, Gariel Ferguson. His experience at Nyam Jam inspired him so much, that upon his arrival back in New York, he immediately got cow foot stew and ate in the parking lot of Home Depot. One love.

How-To Eat Live Octopus (Video)

The people over at Munchies sent their correspondent Sydney Chun to a Seoul, Korea restaurant to report on the controversial practice of eating live octopus.  Before watching the video I immediately recalled a previous incident of a South Korean woman eating cooked squid & she still became impregnated with 12 baby squid in her mouth. Doesn’t exactly look & sound appealing in addition to those type of risks, but every culture is different around the world.  In the video above they have Head chef Kim Sang Jin show viewers the proper way to how to prepare the Octopus for human consumption. If you’re gonna eat Octopus you better pay careful attention, because getting impregnated in the mouth is the least of your worries. You could actually choke & die. Sheehz!

Action Bronson Has Dinner With Mike Ditka (Video)

Ay yooo! We got a hot F#ck, That’s Delicious episode on the Vice MUNCHIES channel. Hosted by, starring and following the exploits of chef-turned-rapper-turned-foodie-show-host (drum roll) Action Bronson. Good 30 minutes of content, but round about two-thirds through, when Hip-Hop celeb Bam-Bam Bronson sits down for dinner with the legendary former NFL coach Mike Ditka… in Chicago… he witness the levels to this celebrity *ish. He acquiesces that you are NOBODY when you are with Mike Ditka in Chi-town (translation: Ditka is a god in the Chi)!

Keep watching as Bronson and Riff Raff go get dogs the Chicago way, all the way, and the ladies want to SERVE them… um… all the way (wow, bold).

Then keep watching as Bronson shows you how to ride out on a gondola in Italy (hint: bring the right potnaz and rolling papers…and things will go alllll riiiight…).
