Seems like the singer & songwriter disappeared or was absent for a minute after a steady rising out of the background for a minute. New video for soul singer & songwriter Goapele for “Tears On My Pillow” off of her “Break Of Dawn” album that’s out right now. The Oakland soul sista’s “Closer” is still a favorite of mine, but she’s determined for people not to sleep on the new album & her acting skills because the people over at Concreteloop says Goapele is set to also appear in the “Sparkle” film remake starring Whitney Houston, Derek Luke, & more.

Blind Man Goes For A Spin In Google’s New Driverless Car (Video)

I saw this a few days ago via twitter & thought it was pretty cool how this blind man by the name of Steve Mahan is able to get around in Google’s new driverless car. We posted something similar to this a few months back, but imagine how the blind gentleman in the video must feel about the possibility to have more freedom in his life than what he’s currently able to enjoy at the moment. Skateboarder Tom Schaar, 12, Makes History Landing First Ever 1080 Off 70 Foot Ramp (Video)

I’m not a skateboard enthusiast but I do marvel as many of the things cats are doing on their skateboards. I watched it live when legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk landed the first ever 900 off of a quarterpipe wall during the X Games. 12 year old Tom Schaar is a young promising skateboarder who just made history by soaring above a 27-foot quarterpipe wall & spinning three full rotations and landing with his board still underfoot. I remember when people said no one would be able to beat Tony Hawk’s 900 after it was completed. It took a 12 year old skateboarder to prove them all wrong.

Diggy Simmons – “What You Say To Me” (J. Cole Diss)

Apparently this new song Diggy Simmons dropped today was in response to what he perceived as a diss on J. Cole’s “Grew Up Fast” song that was released a few weeks back. I honestly don’t believe what J. Cole said was a diss aimed at Diggy Simmons at all. I’d bet money that J. Cole’s “Grew Up Fast” was really going at Jay-Z & Kanye West who didn’t put him on tour with them while he had a new album coming out. J. Cole may never admit it for ‘business reasons’, but I’d put $100 on that theory. Now let’s remember it’s April Fool’s Day so it’s still very possible that this so called escalating ‘battle’ is really a joke & publicity stunt. Diggy’s debut album under performed sales-wise recently & ironically the album should have had more songs like these instead of him possibly listening to his team who appears to have been pushing him to go “pop” too fast with the “copy & paste” formula without building on the talent he does genuinely possess. Like I said before….It’s April Fool’s Day so it maybe all over tomorrow.

The Res Documentary (Trailer)

Spotted this trailer for the upcoming documentary on the feminine 1/2 of the group Idle Warship with Talib Kweli over at OKP. Res’s solo album “How I Do“ still gets many spins from me on a personal level in the itunes, but what I’m surprised to see there was already a documentary being made with her as the focal point. Filmmaker Steve Zegans has been following Res (of Idle Warship fame and, well, Res fame) since the fall of 2010 as the rarely-idle musical road warrior “recorded new music, toured the country and hustled to get her music and name back out there.†The result is a documentary film on the struggles of an independent artist balancing business with creativity and the ups and downs of life and fate. And now we have the trailer for the doc, getting our first glimpse into Res’ daily grind, including performance footage and extensive interview with Talib Kweli. Watch above and we’ll keep you updated as more info about the film and its release comes our way.
