Statik Selektah x Termanology (1982) – “Play Your Role” feat. Reks (Video)
The kids from “Murder Mass”, Statik Selektah, Termanology, & Reks record the song “Play Your Role” & also shoot the video for it while out on tour in Sweden. Apparently the song AND the video directed by Deli Basis were all done in just 45 minutes….Cats moving fast these days with the heat…

Cali Carma – Tired Of Rap (Album)
Atlanta based emcee Cali Carma drops this new mixtape called “Tired Of Rap” which showcases his ability to show off his ill lyricism, but it also highlights the fact that he’s a bonafide star once he gets the proper spotlight. Most artists can be pigeonholed into one or two types of styles in much the same way a “Conscious” rap artist wouldn’t get airplay in the club & a “Trap rapper” wouldn’t get play from real hip hop enthusiasts & purists. Cali Carma’s “Tired Of Rap” project shows that Cali can navigate various styles within hip hop without it coming off forced, wack, or devoid of creative lyricism. Most of us can get tired of rap, but if more cats like Cali Carma are in the game it would be a lot better. Key bangers off of this joint are “NFL”, “Tired Of Rap”, “Hear Me Out”, “Half Empty”, “Good Love”, “E.D.E.N.”, “Hear Me Now”, & few others I plan to eventually play on my radio show & on my ipod regularly. This is a dope project. You can preview listen to the album before you download it over at DATPIFF. Complete tracklisting after the jump…..

Wiz Khalifa – California (Video)
New video from Wiz Khalifa showing love to “California” although the video looks like it was shot in Hawaii. The song “California” will appear on the upcoming “Taylor Allderdice” mixtape. I’m not mad at this breezy joint because it sounds like I’m driving up Cali’s 405 freeway or the PCH at night…
50 Cent – “Off & On” (Video)
I know 50 said he was gonna release a video to every song off of The Big 10 mixtape, but damn slow down the releases of these joints just a lil bit Fif! Not mad at the “Tiger Style” going on in this video though….
Soul Khan – “Hold On” (Video)
I first saw Soul Khan perform for the first time at the A3C festival back in October & he impressed me during his set. I believe he also won over some new fans who may not even been aware of him initially. I did a video interview with him directed by the homie Rick Foy of Dvid films that I believe he’s chopping up with the editing that should eventually make it’s way to the web soon. Check out this new funny video just in time for the holidays for “Hold On” off of Soul Khan’s “Pursuance” EP. Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas Muthaph*ckazzzzzz!
Behind The Scenes: Common – “Celebrate” Shoot (Video)
Perfect song for New Years Eve & apparently that’s when Common wrote this joint last year. Common’s dope new album The Dreamer, The Believer officially drops December 20th….
Rick Ross Rocks South Africa (Video)
Last year I went to South Africa for the very first time & it was one of the best experiences of my life. What I learned while I was in Johannesburg was that Rick Ross was easily one of the top 3 favorite rappers among the masses of hip hop fans in that country besides Kanye West & Lil Wayne. Looking at this video proves that Rick Ross’s popularity hasn’t waned in the motherland at all…

50 Cent – “Wait Until Tonight” (Video)
Another quality looking video from 50’s dope new mixtape The Big 10 that’s out now. The classic Bobby Womack song “If You Think You’re Lonely Now”, which was redone outstandingly by K-Ci of Jodeci, was sampled & produced by Scoop DeVille for this song. Good to see a nice looking video for this mixtape joint too. On another random but obvious note, the Dominican chick in the video gotta alot of ‘cake mix’ with her….
Making The Beat: Mark the 45 King Speaks with Diamond D (Video)
The legendary Mark The 45 King builds with the Bronx’s finest & equally as legendary Diamond D on the 45 King’s new online radio show. R&B/Jazz: Freddie Joachim – Patiently EP
I’ve been letting this new Freddie Joachim EP “Patiently” run a few times today while working. It’s a dope 5 song EP of soulful & jazzy instrumentals that serve as a nice appetizer to his next project “Fiberglass Kisses” due early 2012 on Mellow Orange Music. Freddie Joachim released this project late November & is donating proceeds from the sale of the EP to charity for the holidays. Check out some snippets from the project below or just go on ahead & download the full songs from his page. No singers or rap artists needed for this joint right here. Trust me you won’t be disappointed. I’ll be giving this EP significant spins until his next project drops. Until then we’ll be “Patiently” waiting for it…

The beat tape featuring some of the DMV’s best producers is on its way. this tape pays homage to Ghostface Killah and here is the preview of the artwork for the project.
R&B/Soul: Ishe’ – “Genesis” (Prod. By Hassaan Mackey)
Nice Herbie Hancock inspired & almost off beat/on beat joint produced by Rochester New York producer & emcee Hassaan Mackey. When he’s not out on tour with Maryland producer Kev Brown or crafting joints with his Detroit partner Apollo Brown as 1/2 of Daily Bread, he’s creating joints like these off of a brand new MPC he says he recently purchased. To make this jawn complete he reached out to San Diego’s own Ishe’ via twitter to bless the track vocally. It’s dope how social media can afford artists to collaborate with each other significantly easier…
Talib Kweli – “Distractions”
New banger from Talib Kweli that most people who’ve been following the Occupy Wall Street protests noticed it’s the same verses he spit at the rally in New York City. The song will appear on Talib Kweli’s upcoming album Prisoner Of Conscious due sometime in 2012. Supposedly the video is already in the works for this joint. Until the album drops Talib wants the fans to stay focused on what’s poppin’ in the lyrics of this song to better avoid all the other ‘Distractions’….
Ghostface Killah Interviews with Nardwuar in Vancouver Canada (Video)
I enjoy the interviews that Vancouver’s Nardwuar conducts with rap artists. He has an odd quirkiness to the interviews & depending on the guest you can always get a few laughs as well as some information that most journalists fail to extract from artists like Ghostface who’ve been asked damn near every question imaginable.
Euro League Basketball: Dunk Of The Year? (Video)
Somebody caught some cashews to the face on this one…
