Check out Andre 3000 kicking bars in South West Dekalb’s gym circa 1994. The video says this took place at SouthWest Dekalb High School, but if I remember correctly both Andre 3000 & Big Boi attended Tri-Cities High School. Guess it doesn’t really matter to most of you unless you live in Atlanta, but it’s still dope to check out this small piece of history. You can also see Big Boi in there chillin too. Dope Stuff!!

Rashad Thomas is a talented producer, singer, & songwriter from Ohio who people maybe familiar with his work with fellow Ohio rap artist & Maybach Music Group signee Stalley. Rashad produced Stalley’s critically acclaimed project “Lincoln Way Nights (Intelligent Trunk Music)” project. One of the homies I’ve known for several years by the name of Super Mario manages Rashad & Stalley & I was fortunate enough to get an advance copy of Rashad’s dope R&B album entitled “Museum” that’s dropping late December or January of 2012. Make sure y’all check for that when it drops because I’m still playing key songs off of that joint like “The Return”, “Headphones”, & the Jodeci inspired “I Wanna Love You” since I received a copy of the project. Not able to post any of those joints yet so y’all will have to wait. In this particular interview above Rashad speaks on his creative process & plans to be an all around force in the music game….

WZRD – “Brake”

All of Kid Cudi’s albums have had a not so subtle rock element to them so I’m not surprised when he announced months back that he was forming a band called “WZRD” (Wizard) with producer Dot Da Genius. I’m a fan of Kid Cudi’s music largely because I don’t listen to his music the same as if I’d listen to the average hip hop album. Different moods entirely. The upcoming WZRD album is a birth of sorts for Mr. Scott Mescudi’s focused direction on the rock side of the music so it’s fitting that the album will be released on his birthday January 30th. Great things happening for the ‘Kid’ especially with his acting career also taking off on the new HBO series “How To Make It In America”. Well here’s the first single from the WZRD project called “Brake”…

Chi-town emcee & actor Common was featured on MTV’s ‘When I Was 17’ show & spoke on how his basketball injuries lead to a ‘life of rhyme’. T-Pain is also featured in this particular episode of the show as well & their stories are hilarious as hell. Both artists have albums dropping in December…..

This is a pretty dope R&B joint from singer, songwriter, & producer Emanny who also brought along Yonkers finest Jadakiss to bless this joint as well. The Bronx singer better make sure he’s out here checkin’ identification on these young jawns or end up in an R. Kelly type of situation later in his career. Haha! Emmany has released a few joints that I’ve dug over the last few months. This track right here sounds a little similar to Trey vocally on this one, but Emmany has written songs for many other artists including Trey Songz so maybe he decided to keep this for himself. It’s still a dope joint though…

When I saw the promo photos for Robin Thicke’s new single & album “Love After War” I was sort of confused as to who the blond chick in the bed with him was considering he’s married to sexy & beautiful actress Paula Patton. It wasn’t until I pressed play on this video that I realized it was her looking good rocking the blond wig. Niiiiiiceee. Robin Thicke is a lucky dude with a new baby, beautiful wife Paula who’s starring in the upcoming “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” movie with Tom Cruise, & a new soulful album dropping December 6th. Phife Dawg Performs In London & Pays Tribute To Heavy D (Video)

My homies Phife Dawg, Snax, & DJ Rasta Root were out on tour in Europe & during Phife’s sold out show in the UK he mentioned a few things that raised quite a few eyebrows from fans who were in attendance that tweeted about the show. Phife mentions that when he was sick & in the hospital back in 1992 there were only two rap artists at the time that called him to see if he was well & one of those was Heavy D. Phife also mentions that Jive records failed to clear the Lou Reed sample on one of A Tribe Called Quest’s biggest hits “Can I Kick It” so therefore they have never seen any money from the song over the years.
Zulu Nation Celebrates 38th Anniversary In New York City (Video)

We had Afrika Bambaataa on our radio show late October & he gave us a rundown of all the festivities that were to take place in NYC.
