Focus… is grossly underrated as a producer & artist. It should literally be a crime how much is talent is overlooked. I’m dead ass serious. I seriously doubt Focus’s music could be ‘Misinterpreted’ with a good ear for music. I don’t think it’s ‘Misinterpreted’ moreso than he’s largely not in the spotlight as much as those with far less talent who are always clamoring for camera time. In the long run & on the road to legendary status it’s really about quality music & Focus doesn’t disappoint with this new free album ‘Music Of The Misinterpreted’. This is one of my favorite songs from Pusha T’s ‘Fear Of God’ mixtape. Â ‘Open Your Eyes’ was also produced by ill ass beatsmith ‘Nottz’ & we’ve been running the song on the radio show for weeks since the mixtape dropped. Â Good to see that Pusha T decided to do a video for this one & tried to make it somewhat visually creative without spending a huge budget. Â This is the fourth video that has dropped for the mixtape. Smart moves in my opinion in this new fast paced era of music…….

Mannnnnnnn North Carolina is churning out some of the best quality hip hop right now. I’m not too familiar with Cutlass Reid but I do believe he was at one time working with VA producer Nottz in a group called D.M.P.  I’m definitely feeling this joint right here & especially because I also dig hearing 9th Wonder rhyme under his alter ego ‘9thMatic’. Many of these producers like Nottz, Focus…, Hi-Tek, & others are rapping waaaay better than the artists in the mainstream. This joint ‘Eviction Notice’ will appear on Cutlass Reid’s upcoming mixtape called ‘One Day At A Time’ due Tuesday. Check out some behind the scenes footage under the hood….
