R&B/Soul: Alex Isley – “The Love/Art Memoirs” (EP)
Damn this is dope!!! “The Love/Art Memoirs” (EP) is the self-written, self-produced debut project of Alex Isley. The daughter of R&B legend Ernie Isley (of The Isley Brothers) does not half-step at all – singing with all the smooth soul you’d expect with her pedigree. This EP is making the rounds on the internet almost as quickly as she put it up on the web. But YOU need not look any further. We’ve got what you need in your life right here. “The Love/Art Memoirs” by Alex Isley… yes, the whole EP… for FREE… here.

R&B/Soul: DJ Kemit – “Fortune Teller” feat. Eric Roberson (Video)
New video from the homie (and all around super-dope producer and deejay) DJ Kemit. It’s a soulful banger! Watch for the cool guest appearances. I know I saw DJ Rasta Root, DJ Salah Anase, and model/singer Linda Pearl in there. Nice. Equally as nice…the silky smooth assist from crooner Eric Roberson on this joint. Respect to director Jirard (of the Digibees) and producer Aishah Rashied Hyman on this one, too. The track “Fortune Teller” appears on DJ Kemit’s new album “Everlasting” that’s available now!

This is Episode 52 of a webisode series Daryl Hall (of legendary duo Hall and Oates) has been doing since 2007. Still a judge on NBC’s “The Voice,” Cee-Lo is currently working on a new album with his fam Goodie M.O.B. and a new solo album. R&B/Soul: yU – “Dreams” feat. Danedra Rowell
In a departure from the boom bap we’ve come to expect, yU sets Danedra Rowell on lead vocals for “Dreams†– a rap-free melancholy melody on how we had bigger dreams when were younger… too young to fully understand them. Shout to Kevin Nottingham for the scoop on this gem.

R&B/Soul: Vivian Green – Anything Out There (Video)
I’ve had this very dope song “Anything Out There” from Vivian Green on repeat in my itunes ever since I first heard it about a week ago. I’ve hit repeat on this joint several times over since then & now I’m anticipating more greatness from her new album ‘The Green Room’ which is slated to drop on September 25th. This new video makes the song even more special for me as a Philadelphia native that Vivian Green, who’s also from Philly, shot the clip in our hometown thus carrying that particular essence of what good soul music is about from the city of brotherly love. Philadelphia Freeway, soul singer Eric Roberson & a few other Philly notables also make cameos in the clip.

Alternative/Soul: Lianne La Havas – “Is Your Love Big Enough?” (Video)
Caught wind of the buzz on this single just doing my thing online. A Facebook friend inboxed me… hours later I got an email… and saw a Facebook wall post for “Is Your Love Big Enough?” Figured I better get on the job and check it out. The song’s performer, alternative folk and soul singer/songwriter/instrumentalist Lianne La Havas, was born and raised in London, England, the daughter of a Jamaican mother and Greek father. Recently, “Is Your Love Big Enough?” (La Havas’ debut album for Warner Brothers) was released in the U.K. in July 2012; followed up with a U.S. release earlier this month. The single and full length (both carrying the same title) are available now via iTunes. Lianne La Havas is currently on tour across Europe. Saw no U.S. dates on her site yet, but who knows? For now, take a chance to get up on this talent before she makes her way to the states.

R&B/Soul: Deborah Bond – “Say It” (Nicolay Remix)
DC-based singer Deborah (pronounced Deb-BOR-ah) Bond declares that she channels Anita baker, Chaka Khan, and Sade for her brand of R&B-Funk-British Soul. It’s dope. Having put out two prior LPs, she (with production team/band Third Logic) is banking on the third time being the charm. Well, Deborah is doing the work. She got Nicolay to remix “Say It” – which originally appeared on the most recent full-length release, “Madam Palidrome” – and it is hot joint; sure to lengthen this album’s run. Check out the new single “Say It” (Nicolay Remix) for yourself below – available for FREE download via Foreign Exchange Music (score!). You can also pick up the “Madam Palindrome” album, which includes the original version, at iTunes.

R&B/Soul: Genius Collective – “Stronger Than Me” (Yam Who? Remix)
I caught wind of Genius Collective, a seven-piece crew, and their flip of an Amy Winehouse piece, “Stronger Than Me” (Yam Who? Remix) from BamaLoveSoul. The folks over there declare that this joint “will inspire ChiTown stepper’s to get their footwork right!” No word on a release date, but keep checking the Genius Collective’s Bandcamp page for good leaks.

R&B/Soul: Vivian Green – “Anything Out There”
Slated to be on her upcoming release, “The Green Room,” Vivian Green presents “Anything Out There.” Syrupy sweet and smooth. Rock this when you’re in the chill zone (or when you want to get there). The single is available for download via iTunes now. “The Green Room” will be out on September 25, 2012.
R&B/Soul: AAries – “Don’t Give It Up”
Coming soon on the “Reel People Music” release, Philly Twin Sister act AAries blesses us with “Don’t Give It Up.” You can stream it right here for now. The release date for “Reel People Music” is August 17, 2012 (days away; so, we won’t be waiting long).
R&B: Arlissa – “Hard To Love Somebody†feat. Nas (Video)
South London’s Arlissa sings with an old soul, though she is not even out of her teens. She’s about to be major though. With a Nas co-sign? Come on. I need not say any more. The video for the remake of Arlissa’s single “Hard To Love Somebody†(due out on iTunes September 30, 2012) provides visuals for the good music she and Nas made. Shout out to This Is RnB for the scoop on this hotness.
Tall Black Guy – “Desperte se Rápido” (Instrumental)
From his 11-track digital album, “Brazilian Chronicles” (out now), Tall Black Guy releases this instrumental gem, “Desperte se Rápido.” A nice uplifting message at the end, too. The commentary at the ends sounds like the voice of Bobby McFerrin but I could be wrong though. You can get “Brazilian Chronicles” – a montage of Brazilian-sampled music (including “Desperte se Rápido”) – by following the link provided here.
