We spoke about performing live with Grillade, his track “Chill” with Trackademicks, Phonte and 1-O.A.K, Young Jeezy being one of his inspirations and him appearing on “Thug Motivation 103” set to release December 20th. We also spoke about his newest release “Cold Day In Hell”, including the features on it, his EP “Lord Giveth, Lord Taketh Away” with Statik Selektah, remixing Random Axe’s “Chewbaca” and what’s next for him.

Common’s Album Listening Party for ‘The Dreamer, The Believer’ (Video)

The hilarious thing about Common’s “The Dreamer, The Believer” album listening party in Atlanta last night is that whoever organized it didn’t invite the key media & radio people who actually have been supporting Common regularly like ourselves. It’s like this listening party was trying to push it to the wrong audience or media who rarely ever support his work. What’s even more ironic the album listening party was held at Jermaine Dupri’s SosoDef Studios. Oh well….that’s the music business for ya….Somebody at a major label drops the ball again where it matters. Album comes out December 20th. Hopefully they have enough press about it.

R&B/Soul: Elle Varner – Refill

The beautiful songstress Elle Varner delivers another “Refill” of quality music since that dope “Only Wanna Give It To You” track she dropped a few months back. I’m aware that Elle Varner is a very diverse newcomer in terms of music & has the ability to flip into a variety of genres, but I have to admit I didn’t quite dig this joint as much as her debut single at first. The hillbilly type violins or fiddlin’ in it were a little distracting, but after a second listen later I began to dig it a little more. I guess that would almost explain the premise behind her upcoming debut album appropriately titled “Perfectly Imperfect”
